Joseph & Mary's Home recently hosted nearly 75 supporters and staff for the blessing and dedication of the relocated Joseph's Home space. When residents move in later in August, Joseph’s Home will be a modernized and 100% handicapped accessible medical respite facility for 11 male residents. Goodwill Industries of Greater Cleveland and East Central Ohio, Inc. and the Sisters of Charity Health System are exploring an exciting new collaboration aimed at further uplifting Cleveland’s Central Neighborhood. The centerpiece of this potential partnership is a proposed Goodwill Opportunity Center, to be located on the former grounds of St. Vincent Charity Medical Center. The Sisters of Charity Health System and all of our ministries join people around the world in mourning the loss and celebrating the life of Pope Francis. He dedicated his entire ministry to focusing on the experiences of the most vulnerable members of society. Pope Francis exemplified the qualities of a true servant leader, recognizing that caring for the poor, the sick, the hungry, those in prison and strangers mattered the most. He was an unwavering advocate for ethical care for all, and always led with compassion, inclusivity and humility. Pope Francis leaves a legacy for all of us to emulate. For that, we are forever grateful.

The Sisters of Charity Health System was honored to host Governor Mike DeWine yesterday. Governor DeWine toured the outpatient addiction treatment program, Rosary Hall, which has provided care, treatment and hope to over 100,000 drug and alcohol dependent people since 1952. In addition to hearing about the variety of treatment options at Rosary Hall, Governor DeWine learned about the historic contributions of Sr. Ignatia Gavin, CSA, the founder of Rosary Hall and a co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous.
