Some days you just need nature. I've been feeling slightly off, a weird vibration. took me to last night. It was very much needed. I've gone through some physical ailments recently and it was nice to feel freedom to wiggle my toes in the water or bury our toes in what hubs calls "true Cleveland sand".
Earthing is a one thing most don't do. We are disconnected from nature. This disconnection could be responsible for increased inflammation, affected sleep, and chronic pain. Researchers who study grounding believe that shoes, along with buildings, has encased humans from the ground, preventing the transfer of essential electrons. The concept of grounding suggests that without these electrons, free radicals in the body that are missing electrons adversely impact many of the bodyβs processes. Earthing decreases sodium, magnesium, potassium, protein, and iron levels in the body. Additionally, the research suggests that continuous earthing decreases blood glucose in people with diabetes. Notably, older studies on grounding suggest that walking barefoot on the ground or sleeping directly on the ground provide these benefits. There are fancy grounding mats you can purchase or you could just take off your shoes and socks and stand in the grass or in the river.
I loved running outside bare foot as a kiddo. I rode my bike, walked our yard, played with our horse, mowed the lawn, all bare foot. I love shoes don't get me wrong but that feeling of the cool grass on your feet..... aaaaa..... It's refreshing and a recharge!!
