Society for Investigative Dermatology (SID) The SID’s mission is to advance and promote the sciences relevant to skin health and disease It will be a leading purveyor of educational programming.

The SID will be the pre-eminent organization for the science of skin health and diseases. It will promote a culture of discovery and serve as the premier forum for the exchange of scientific information relating to dermatologic research. It will build cross-disciplinary bridges to provide catalytic leadership in attaining intellectual, political, and financial support for skin-related scientific i

nvestigation. The SID will be—and be viewed as—a significant force in shaping public policy. As a result of recruiting, nurturing, and mentoring the next generation of scientists, it will be a financially robust and self-sustaining organization. Values

Seeking the Next Generation of Dermatology Researchers?

The 2026 SID Annual Meeting brings together leading investigators and the next generation of dermatology researchers from around the world. The Society for Investigative Dermatology (SID) invites academic departments, research laboratories, government agencies, industry partners, and interdisciplinary programs to submit training and career opportunities to be featured exclusively for attendees.

Industry leaders, government agencies, academic departments: Submit your available training & career opportunities to connect directly with promising future leaders and experienced researchers and physician-scientists.

All Annual Meeting attendees will receive access to the SID Career Center, a curated directory of positions in dermatology research, labs, and industry settings worldwide.

Special Guest: Mary Woolley on Science Advocacy

Saturday morning at the 2026 SID Annual Meeting opens with a conversation with Mary Woolley, president and CEO of Research!America—an alliance that advocates for science, discovery, and innovation to achieve better health for all.

An elected member of the National Academy of Medicine (where she served two terms on its Governing Council) and Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Woolley brings decades of experience navigating science policy and research funding advocacy.

She has served on the National Academy of Sciences Board on Higher Education and the Workforce, the Board on Life Sciences, and numerous other advisory bodies. With a 35-year publication history on science advocacy topics, Woolley is a sought-after speaker and trusted voice on the importance of sustaining public investment in biomedical research.

This timely session addresses issues critical to the investigative dermatology community: how to effectively advocate for science, communicate research impact, and build support for sustained funding.
