We spend so much time trying to become—setting rules, chasing versions of ourselves—when nothing is missing. The only work is stepping out of the identity we built and resting in peace with who we already are. There is no separation, only remembrance.

Believe me, I struggle with this too sometimes. Society keeps showing us that we are not enough—not perfect, not good enough, not up to some invisible standard. But that, again, is conditioning. I try to always remind myself that I am enough, that everything I need has already been given to me. And when I remember that… everything becomes easier and clearer.

Star anise is a gentle, comforting plant. It helps with digestion, bloating, and gas, and it’s especially supportive when the stomach feels cold or sluggish. It can calm coughs, ease the breath, and bring a sense of warmth and ease through the body.

This plant has been used for thousands of years and was well known along ancient Persian and Asian trade routes. In Persian traditional medicine, star anise was valued for strengthening digestion, warming the body, and supporting the lungs—especially during colder months.

Before tea became a quick convenience, it was a relationship.
Whole leaves, flowers, roots, and seeds were steeped slowly — sometimes simmered — allowing the plant to fully open and offer its medicine.

Loose leaf tea is vitality, aroma, minerals, and intelligence. You can see the plant. You know what you’re drinking. You choose the strength, the herbs, and the intention.

Tea bags, as we know them today, are a modern industrial invention — created for speed, uniformity, and mass production. Often filled with powdered or fragmented plant material, they remove us from the sensory and ritual aspects that once made tea a form of healing.

Choosing loose tea is returning to slowness, awareness, and respect for the plant.

Yalda is one of the oldest and most sacred traditions of ancient Iran — second only to Nowruz (Spring Equinox) — honored for thousands of years.
For ancient Iranians, the solstices and equinoxes were not just seasonal shifts, but powerful cosmic gateways.

It was believed that on the longest night of the year, the veil between the seen and unseen grows thin.
This night was also honored as the birth of Mithra — the solar consciousness, guardian of truth, covenant, and light.
So people would gather together, light candles, laugh, sing, dance, and stay awake until dawn — not out of fear, but to ward off heavy energies and welcome the rebirth of the Sun.

🌙 What happens on Yalda night:
Families come together, elders and children side by side.
Stories are told. Poetry is read (often Hafez).
There is warmth, humor, remembrance, and deep presence.

The symbolism:
❤️Pomegranate — life force, fertility, blood of the sun, protection
💚Watermelon — summer’s stored sunlight, health through winter
🤍Candle — the promise of light returning, inner fire, hope
✨Storytelling & poetry — ancestral wisdom carried through the dark
