Hot, humid, and stormy! Welcome to summer in Tennessee!

⚠️ A Heat Advisory remains in effect today through 7 PM. Heat index values could reach up to 106°F in southeastern Tennessee. Stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity, and take breaks in the shade or air conditioning if you’re working outside.

⛈️ This afternoon and evening, we’re expecting scattered thunderstorms, especially along the mountains near the TN/NC border with additional development possible across the valley. The main threat is damaging wind gusts from slow-moving storms.

🌩 East Tennessee is now included in the risk area for severe weather. Storm coverage may be scattered, but the timing and potential impacts are high-confidence.

Be weather-aware, check on neighbors, and as always if you see flooding or downed lines, avoid the area and report it to authorities. Stay safe, Bradley County!

Temperatures will continue to increase into early next week with Wednesday possibly being the hottest day of this heat wave. For much of the Valley, there is generally a 40% to 70% probability for actual temperatures to reach 100°F with heat index values approaching 105°F in some spots.
