For an armlift, the incision on the inside of the arm is less visible than one on the underside. What does that mean? When you see an armlift postop picture (arms up and elbow bent) and there’s no visible incision, there actually is one, it’s on the underside of the arm, along the tricep. This looks good for postop photos, but when the patient has their arm at their side (which is how our arms are most of the time—unless you walk around flexing your biceps) the scar looks like a stripe down the back of the arm. Therefore the “hidden” incision in postop photos is actually more visible to more people than the incision in the groove of the bicep on the inner arm. It’s not always possible to revise the incision on the back of the arm to make it more hidden. Make sure you understand where the scar will be.

Otoplasty, otherwise known as ear pinning, is a great procedure to correct prominent ears. There’s a variety of different techniques for performing the surgery, all of which depends on the reason for the prominence, but most of these procedures can be done under local anesthesia.
This patient had prominent ears her entire life and came to me to correct this issue. In a procedure that took just a little over an hour under local anesthesia, I was able to make a significant improvement for her which will greatly help her confidence and self-esteem.

This is a 5’2” petite patient who presented for breast rejuvenation. She was interested in a more youthful, fuller breast shape. After our consultations, she decided on a 400 cc silicone implant. In the surgery, I made an incision around the ar**la and down to the fold which allowed to elevate the ni**le position and remove extra skin I also used the desired implant in a sub muscular position which will protect her from having rippling of the implant in the future. She seen three months out and is doing great. She’s very happy with her new improved shape.

This is a 35 year old 5’2” 106lb petite mother of 2 who came to see me for rejuvenation of her abdomen. Given her loose skin she needed a tummy tuck. In that surgery the skin from the belly button to the p***c area is removed and the skin from the belly button up to the rib cage is stretched and pulled down to the bikini line. Any muscle separation is also repaired. The result is a flatter and smoother abdomen.
I performed a tummy tuck with skin removal and muscle repair on this patient. She is seen approximately three months after surgery. The telltale sign of a tummy tuck is the belly button and hers looks great. She will no doubt feel comfortable wearing a two-piece bikini this summer! ☀️👙

Dr. Leedy is an educator, having published articles in the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal and having presented his research at national plastic surgery meetings.
