The monks spent 6 hours painstakingly creating a beautiful sand mandala. Then they swept it away in a ceremony to teach the lesson that everything is impermanent, and that attachment to anything is one of the causes of suffering. ❤

The monks gave a wonderful lecture last night at the Parma library on "Mandalas and Their Meaning". 65 people attended!

If we can view what's going on in the world as an opportunity for us to live and express the values we believe in, rather than as a terrible thing we can do nothing about, that will change everything. We cannot know love without also being made aware of its opposite. Make a conscious decision as to which energy you want to feed, and feed it constantly. That will change everything. ❤
