Setting boundaries can feel uncomfortable at first, but with practice, becomes easier.
You learn how to teach people how to treat you, because you're finally treating yourself with kindness.

Friendly reminder: the people most bothered by your boundaries are usually the ones who benefited from you not having them💖

Happy Turkey Day!🦃

What dishes are you nourishing yourself with this holiday?

Take a break when you need. Listen to your body. Stay close to the people who help you feel at ease. Reflect on what you are grateful for. Step back from anything that pulls you from your peace.

Every little restorative practice brings you closer to living your most authentic and healed self🤎

✨Gratitude Post✨ (Part II)

I want to share my deepest gratitude to our sponsors/collaborators for our Roots to Resilience event with last night:

To , and especially and , for organizing this event with such intention and for your unwavering commitment to uplifting our AAPI community in Cleveland and across Ohio. Your work creates spaces where our stories can be heard and honored.

To the for hosting us in such a welcoming and accessible space. Thank you for being a place where learning and connection is possible.

To for your dedication to celebrating and preserving Filipino culture. Your presence provides intergenerational grounding for our community.

To for continuing the important work of archiving our stories, protecting our legacies, and ensuring our history and stories are told.

To for your advocacy, leadership, and steadfast support of Asian American voices across the region.

To for nourishing us, literally, with the most comforting Filipino food. The pansit and lumpia were divine! (I had a dream about the turon 🤤). There is nothing like sharing a meal that tastes like home.

To for your encouragement and support that helped make the event feel so warm and community-centered.

And to everyone who attended—your questions, your reflections, and your willingness to sit in a space of healing and storytelling shaped the entire evening. The room felt thoughtful and intentional because of you🫶🏼

This night was a reminder of why community matters. Why representation matters. Why healing in the presence of one another matters.

My heart is full. Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat💛

✨Gratitude Post✨ (Part I)

My heart is still overflowing from this beautiful evening. As I shared last night, whenever we see people who look like us, something in us awakens. It’s that part of us that yearns to feel seen, to feel heard, to feel belongingness. It feels like home🥰

Meeting all those years ago was one of those “awakening” moments for me. To see another Filipina woman in the counseling profession shifted something in me.

Stacey has been a mentor, teacher, colleague, friend, and ate (big sister) to me and being able to moderate a conversation with her about her new book Patterns That Remain felt like a full circle moment.

Representation matters, deeply. When we see someone who looks like us doing the things we once struggled to imagine for ourselves, it sends an implicit message to our brains: you can do this too.

That is the power of visibility🤝🏼

See you tonight!!!💛

Hey friends!✨

I’m so excited to share something really special that’s close to my heart! OPAWL Cleveland will be hosting “From Roots to Resilience: A Conversation with Dr. Stacey Litam” — and I’ll be moderating this beautiful evening of storytelling, reflection, and intergenerational connection.

If you know me, you’ve probably heard me beam with pride about Dr. Stacey Litam — my mentor, ate, sis, colleague, and friend. Her new book, Patterns That Remain, dives deep into themes of healing, identity, and honoring those who came before us. Please keep the Philippines in your hearts and prayers❤️

Within just one week, two destructive super typhoons, Typhoon Kalmaegi (Tino) and Typhoon Fung-Wong (Uwan), have devastated communities across the country. The aftermath has displaced more than a million Filipinos and killed more than 200.

If you’re wondering how to help and if you are able to, here are trusted organizations providing food, shelter, and relief on the ground:

✨Philippine Red Cross: redcross.org.ph/donate
✨GlobalGiving: globalgiving.org/projects/philippines-typhoon-relief-fund
✨Angat Buhay Foundation: angatbuhay.ph/donate
✨The National Alliance for Filipino Concerns: nafconusa.org/campaigns/disasterresponse/

To our kababayans, please take care and look out for one another.

Every share, every donation, every act of care matters❤️🇵🇭

Have you ever tried drawing with both hands?

The cool thing about bilateral drawing is that it engages both sides of the brain and is supported by research in helping you regulate.
