This is so heartbreaking! Please consider donating to pay for her medical bills. I can't understand how nobody noticed her. Poor baby I'm so sorry in humans failed you. Run free now sweet baby you don't have to live in this evil world anymore
On November 12th Stella was found on Bedell Rd in Berlin Center. Our deputy Valerie picked up this frail scared pup from the people who held onto her and brought her back to the pound. Valerie sat and cuddled her while her kennel was set up and even gave her a warm bath.
The next morning when Jess and Sarah were feeding the dogs in our intake area they found that Stella had vomited up an alarming amount of rocks. Friends Of Fido MCDP immediately arranged for her to go to the vet.
In the care of Veterinary staff is where she remained for the rest of the week….which was the rest of her life.
Glass, debri and metal remained in her belly. Her kidney levels were sky high. She needed surgery to remove the foreign material from her body but that was tricky. She had come in dehydrated and severely emaciated which made her very fragile.
The vet staff watched her closely and kept hoping that with fluids and care her kidneys would improve. Unfortunately that did not happen. In an effore to save her the decision was made to do surgery. The hope was that once the metal was removed, her kidneys would rebound and she would start to recover.
Stella spent about a week in the care of the veterinary staff where she was loved beyond measure. They were the family she had always deserved. Sadly her health declined. She was suffering and there was nothing more that could be done. They lost her. We lost her.
In all of that time, with so many prayers, updates, donations, messages and shares…..NO ONE knows her. NO ONE has come forward with any information.
This little girl was so starved that she ate anything that she could to ease the pain of hunger. She was invisible it seems. Ironically the loss of Stella to us “strangers” has been beyond devastating.
We want to take this time to thank the vet staff who devoted a week to giving her all the love she has ever known. We are sorry for your loss. Doing everything that you can and ending up with a broken heart does not go unnoticed and is not taken for granted. 💔
Rest in peace baby girl. 🙏
