If You Take One, You’ll Break Two Hearts

They don’t have names.
But they have each other.

For seven years, these two senior English Bulldogs have shared everything—beds, bowls, bad days, and belly rubs. And now, in the cold concrete corner of a shelter in Moreno Valley, they share one more thing: the terrifying silence of not knowing if they’ll make it out alive.

No growls. No barking. Just one quietly draped paw over the other.
A hug that says, "Please don’t let this be the end of us."

In the harsh light of a sterile shelter room, two senior English Bulldogs lie curled into each other on a pale blue floor. One is creamy beige, the other chocolate brown, both with closed eyes and furrowed brows that echo exhaustion and sadness. The lighter dog rests his head gently on his brother’s, his paw protectively stretched over him—an embrace so human it hurts to look away. The surrounding environment is bare and emotionless: cold metal, clinical walls, and the quiet tension of time running out. Their bond radiates warmth, but the space around them is anything but safe.

Thrown Away at 13 Weeks—She Was Left to Die 💔

May 21st, her world ended before it even began.
Surrendered. Alone. Confused.
She doesn't know why the hands that once cradled her gave her away. She doesn’t know that the cold kennel she now sleeps in could be her last.

Sparkle’s too young to fear death…
But she can feel the absence of love.
And in her silence, she is begging: “Please. Don’t forget me.”

Her head hangs low, her soft eyes downcast, radiating confusion and heartbreak. The wooden wall behind her looks like a facade of home, but it’s not. It’s just another barrier in the shelter. Her tiny body is curled as if bracing for disappointment, and her drooping ears frame a face that speaks only of sorrow and surrender.

‼️💔 SOS Time to get upset share to find the breeder so he can go reclaim Karma so we can help and email the Vance County North Carolina Board Members to report the unreasonable shelter manager 💔Karma is a 5 month old cane Corso puppy.
We were told was rescue only because she is terrified after being surrendered by her breeder, she is absolutley terrified in the shelter. We were approved to pull her but apparently the chief decided she is his little project. 🙄😭💔

We were there to eval and pull her.
During the evaluation in the kennel she was in she was so terrified from all the noise she was crawling up the kennel walls 💔😔 she was able to be safely leashed she was a bit defensive but having that much fear is understandable in this environment for a young Corso pup. She was dragged down the haul becausese she was to scared to move 😭😔

We have a history with this breed and we can rehab her.
During her eval she was building trust quickly in 15 minutes she was calming down and allowed us to put a easy walk harness on her and she was already walking on it.
She allowed us to check her ears, and rub all over her body. She does need socializing and some confidence building. Vance County Animal Control had her listed as rescue only.
Here we were ready to take her home into a quiet place where she could decompress and the director came into the room and told us we could not take her because she was his project and apparently she is now going to be adopted out tk thWe were absolutley devastated that she had to be dragged back to that loud scary kennel in their high kill county shelter. Cane Corso's are very sensitive dogs and this environment is so cruel to force her to stay in. We are so disappointed by the way this shelter is being ran and this is absolutley not acceptable.

A shelter environment is no place for a 5 month old cane Corso pup to be exposed to extremly fearful circumstances and loud noise during a fear stage in her development.
We hope Karma will be able to be saved by a suitable org!
