Cleveland Business Gives Back
Delta Maids owner Will Bradham established program for cancer patients
By Jack Criss, The Bolivar Bullet
Every year since 2016, Will Bradham and his Cleveland-based business, Delta Maids, gives back to people suffering with cancer, or in remission, through a program initiated to honor Braham's late father.
"It's called 'Delta Maids Gives Back,' a cleaning giveaway, and I started it in honor of my dad, Jimmie Bradham - everybody called him 'Red' - who passed away from lung cancer in 1998," said Bradham. "We take nominations on our website, www.deltamaids.net, through a submission form and the final selection is made by three judges who are not affiliated with any of my companies."
Bradham said the winning recipient receives two thorough house cleanings twice a month for six months, in the Cleveland area and also in Oxford. The deadline for online submissions is at 5:00 p.m. on May 31.
"People with cancer have compromised immune systems and a thoroughly-cleaned house is a must and necessity," continues Bradham. "Unfortunately, however, it's also often a luxury to many who don't have the time or resources to keep things tidy and disinfected. This is our way of helping families who are otherwise too busy taking care of their loved ones - it's one less burden for them.
"Dad's passing was also one of the reasons why I opened up another one of my businesses, Right At Home of North MS, as a matter of fact," said Bradham, referring to his home health company and another part of Bradham Enterprises. "So many little tasks add up when you're trying to take care of an ill family member and we hope that the Delta Maids giveaway is one thing we can take off the plate of the caregiver. Helping families was also the reason behind my starting Right At Home, of course."
Bradham said that the three judges for the giveaway look primarily to help those families who cannot afford such a service in making their final decision.
"That certainly doesn't mean that more well-off families can't win or haven't won in the past," said Bradham. "It just makes more sense that, if a household is nominated that otherwise couldn't afford professional cleanings, it would get the nod."
Delta Maids offers residential and commercial cleaning services serving Oxford, MS and Cleveland, MS.
