We need your help please!
First, I have a prayer request for anyone who will. This week is a really big week for independent pharmacy. In a nutshell, there are two senate bills for PBM REFORM coming to the table this week. SB99 and SB93. Both are similar but SB99 is even tougher towards PBMs with no loopholes. Of course, we would love for SB99 to make it to the floor and pass. But whichever does (or a combination of the two), independent pharmacy and their patients desperately need this. FIRST AND ABOVE ALL, I ask anyone who will to say a prayer for this need. This has been on going and we are fighting what I can only describe as evil. Please pray that the bill God wants for us will not be shot down by our state government this time and that once this gets where it needs to go that the smear campaigns from PBMs (that we know are headed our way) will NOT be successful. This is not just for the pharmacies themselves but for our patients also. I can promise you that injustice has been done to both. Other states have made this move and we are only asking to be paid on a similar basis as the way Alabama Medicaid pays us. That way everyone can be taken care of the same. It will save cost, it is NOT a tax, and it does NOT increase copays. We are fighting a big enemy and I believe in the power of prayer over anything else!
Second, please please email or call our local Senator Shay Shelnutt For Senate. When you contact him, you can just say that you want PBM REFORM for independent pharmacy. Contacting David Standridge will help also. However Shay Shelnutt is on the committee directly connected to this issue. I’ll leave his info below:
