Functional Soft Tissue, Featuring FAKTR is a 14.5 hour hands on seminar including an introduction to kinetic chain and movement evaluation for the evaluation and treatment of soft tissue dysfunction, the use of FAKTR Concepts, and Rehabilitation for soft tissue remodeling. Kinetic chain and movement evaluation will be introduced to assist in determining areas of injury and dysfunction and help iso
late areas along the kinetic chain that may be dysfunctional but not pain provoking for faster and more lasting outcomes. These evaluation procedures can also be used for functional assessments for progress evaluation documentation. Soft tissue dysfunction will be treated head to toe using FAKTR Concepts with specific attention to ligament, tendon, myofascial, post-surgical care in both the acute and chronic phases. Neurologic 2. Pro-inflammatory structural changes 3. Anti-inflammatory; with the 5 FAKTR Concepts 1. Positions of provocation 2. Motion 3. Resistance (under load) 4. Functional Positions and activities 5. Adding proprioception. FAKTR concepts will be used with both instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (IASTM) as well as by manual methods. Finally, we will demonstrate rehabilitation exercises for each body part for remodeling and stabilization of soft tissue with specific attention to use of theraband low tech rehab for kinetic chain and postural dysfunction using Janda Concepts, TRX suspension trainers, and much more. There will be 4+ exercises demonstrated for each soft tissue section that will enhance and create longer lasting benefits to your FAKTR soft tissue treatments! Functional Taping for Musculoskeletal injuries with Gregory H. Doerr, DC, CCSP. Dr. Doerr has been certified in kinesiotaping, spider tech, SPRT, Rock Tape and has developed many of his own signature taping styles. He has over 15 years of clinical taping experience. Functional Taping for Musculoskeletal Injuries is a 12 hour hands on course designed to demonstrate pre-taping functional evaluation to determine which taping technique to be used and to ensure a functional change when applied. Several different taping techniques will be demonstrated and used on number of musculoskeletal injuries of the spine, upper extremity, and lower extremity. Taping techniques to be demonstrated include Tim Brown’s Specific Proprioceptive Response Taping, Kinesiotaping, Functional Movement Taping (FMT), Spider Tech pre-cuts, and neuroproprioceptive techniques. Injuries to be treated with these taping procedures include disc herniations, postural disorders, tendinopathy of upper and lower extremity, ligament sprains of the upper and lower extremity, edema reduction, and joint laxities. Evaluation techniques will be demonstrated to ensure the taping techniques will be effective and allow those attending to demonstrate proper documentation on the medical necessity of taping for 3rd party payers. All procedures will be applicable to the athlete, geriatric and general patient population with proper coding according to the ACA discussed, as well as the newest research and physiology on taping procedures.
1 roll each of kinesiology tape, leukotape, coverall and SpiderTech pre-cuts (when available), Certificates of Attendance and CD’s of the entire taping presentation (excluding videos) will be given to all those attending the class. Each attendee will have the opportunity to use kinesiology tape, coverall, leukotape, and spider tech pre-cuts and will feel comfortable using these tapes in their office on Monday morning.
