🍂 Seasonal Thought
September’s here — the air cools, daylight shifts just enough, and there’s something about this season that nudges us to settle in, re-align, re-set. It’s a great time to check posture, not just for aesthetics, but because how we stand, sit, and move truly changes what our back (and especially the paraspinal muscles) go through every day.
🔍 Fun Fact
Did you know the spine contains over 120 muscles, 220 ligaments, and more than 100 joints? Bonati Spine Institute+2Good Health Centre+2
The paraspinals (the muscles that run alongside your spine) help with posture, stability, twisting, bending — they do a lot. Kind of like the unsung heroes of your torso.
đź“… Current Connection + Health Tie-In
As people return to more “indoors” routines (thinking work-from-home, school, cozier evenings), there tends to be more time sitting, less moving. Bags get heavier, chairs stay the same, and screen time creeps up. All of this puts stress on the spine and paraspinal muscles.
Here’s a gentle reminder: small changes make a difference. Adjusting your chair height, breaking up long sitting with stretch breaks, & being aware of your posture can ease tension and set your back up better for the season ahead.
đź’ˇ So, In Closing ...
This September, as you enjoy crisp mornings and warm drinks, give your spine a little extra kindness. Those paraspinals you don’t always think about? They’ll thank you.
Warmly,
Laura
