IHA in the news: The Daily Gazette spotlights IHA member hospitals — including Nathan Littauer Hospital and Ellis Medicine — as New York prepares to deploy $212 million in federal Rural Health Transformation Program funding across 47 rural counties.
IHA President & CEO Kevin Kerwin told the Daily Gazette: "This is an important program for us to be able to leverage. Our members will do everything in their power to make sure they're able to meet that deadline."
He also called for sustained state investment to ensure the innovations built under the program can stand on their own: "We've got to get through those first initial years to be able to get something off the ground effectively."
The program targets integrated care networks, digital health, workforce development, and cybersecurity — but Kevin was clear it doesn't come close to offsetting the $8 billion hit New York hospitals face under H.R. 1. IHA will keep pushing for what our members need.
