History was made yesterday! On May 1, 2026, Mercy Flight, Inc., officially held the "Changing of the Sign" ceremony, marking the dawn of a new era for New York State’s emergency medical services.

The unveiling of the Mercy Flight EMS sign is more than just a brand update—it is the culmination of months of hard work, planning, and a landmark merger. By integrating a long-standing provider into our nonprofit framework, we are securing the future of high-quality, life-saving care for both our rural and suburban communities.

A project of this magnitude doesn’t happen overnight. It took a massive, multi-year effort from dedicated individuals across the board. To everyone who put their hands on this project—from the logistics and regulatory teams to our frontline crews—thank you. Your hard work has ensured that our community’s future remains bright, stable, and ready to respond.

Join us in celebrating this proud and emotional moment! We're excited to announce that Today, April 30, 2026, marks the official transition of Finger Lakes Ambulance to the Mercy Flight family. Finger Lakes Ambulance will now be Mercy EMS - Finger Lakes.

We are incredibly proud of all of our past and current employees and excited for this next chapter! A huge thank you to our community partners, agencies, and hospitals for your continued and steadfast support.

Christie, January, Marc, Cody, and Ken – Your unwavering dedication keeps our entire system rolling smoothly. Whether you're answering emergency calls or coordinating resources, your skill and commitment go above and beyond, making a real difference in the lives of those we serve.

We also want to extend a huge shout-out to our trained dispatchers who step up and fill in whenever needed, often with very short notice. Your willingness to jump in and support the team is invaluable.

🚑 Teamwork Above & Beyond 🚑

We want to take a moment to recognize Dylan and Hunter for truly going the extra mile this week.

During a long‑distance transport, one of our crews experienced a flat tire on a remote back‑country road—while a patient was still on board. As leadership worked quickly to ensure patient safety and continuity of care, Dylan and Hunter didn’t hesitate to step up.
They volunteered to drive three hours each way, after hours, to assist the stranded crew, change the flat tire, and help get everyone safely back on the road. That kind of selflessness and commitment speaks volumes about who they are and what this team stands for.

This is teamwork in action. This is dedication to the mission. This is how we keep our ambulances rolling and our patients protected.

Thank you, Dylan and Hunter, for your professionalism and willingness to answer the call—proving that sometimes even medics need rescuing. 👏
