Pom Pom Drop!

I saved some toilet paper and paper towel tubes (I need to remember to save more!) and taped them to the wall to make a fun drop for some Pom poms! This was a great activity to do together but also to encourage some independent play because let’s face it, sometimes we need our kiddos to play on their own so we can have some space 😉 and independent play is an important skill too!!

Some ideas for learning:
1. Emphasize or highlight vocabulary words related to this activity such as “drop” “fall” “in” “out” “up” “down”. Say these words with extra emphasis and with repetition! Even if you kiddo doesn’t join in and say them with you they are listening!
2. Sort pom poms by color before dropping them
3. Work on picking the Pom poms up with a pincer grasp or use tongs for an added challenge!
4. Have different sizes of Pom poms and sort them into big and little.
5. Work on following directions! “Put a little Pom Pom in” “put a blue Pom Pom in”
6. Make an obstacle course or have your kiddo do something to earn the Pom poms such as walking across the room to you or jumping 5 times.
7. Step back and let them play! Maybe enjoy some coffee for 10 minutes in peace 😊😉
