Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer among adult women, which is why the American Cancer Society suggests that women start undergoing mammography no later than age 40 and continue yearly for the rest of their lives.

If you are unsure of when to start having regular mammograms, and how often, your health care provider can help you decide based on your medical history and if you have certain risk factors for breast cancer.

One of the misconceptions about pregnancy is that expectant mothers need to “take it easy” to avoid the risk of a miscarriage. Just because you’re pregnant doesn’t mean you can’t be active and exercise – as long as you do so safely.

In fact, healthy pregnant women need at least a few hours of moderate-intensity aerobic activity per week – one that makes them breathe faster and increases their heart rate – to help ensure their wellness and that of their unborn child.

Learn how staying active and what safe activities you can do while pregnant on our blog at the link in our bio!

After that, you should visit your doctor once a month during your first trimester (up to 28 weeks), every two weeks from weeks 28 to 36 of your pregnancy, and then once a week from weeks 36 to 40.
