Goodall-Witcher Healthcare Expands Services and Enhances Community Care
Goodall-Witcher Healthcare (GW) is pleased to announce significant enhancements to our service offerings, including the strategic repurposing of our current nursing home facility.
This decision comes in response to the evolving healthcare needs of our community, particularly the decreased demand for long-term care since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, GW will begin transitioning our current nursing home residents to other local facilities and will ultimately close the nursing home. The resources from this transition will be reallocated to enhance healthcare services that better serve the needs of Bosque County residents, as identified in the recent Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) Enhanced Patient Options and Care.
Our top priority is ensuring a smooth transition for our nursing home residents. They will have the opportunity to move to other quality facilities within Bosque County that best suit their needs.
Our long-standing partner under the Texas State nursing home program (QIPP), Sunset Home Nursing Facility, will play a crucial role in this process by honoring some of GW’s current pricing
for long-term care, ensuring affordability and continuity of care. Sunset Home is also preparing to welcome GW employees to their team to meet the increased demand, further supporting a
seamless transition for all involved.
Expanding Services for a Healthier Community
Repurposing the nursing home facility allows GW to introduce much-needed specialty services, thereby enhancing healthcare options for all Bosque County residents. These new services will
address critical health needs and ensure our community continues to receive top-tier care.
Our decision is primarily rooted in our dedication to delivering the best possible care for our community, with a focus on meeting current and future healthcare needs rather than financial
considerations. We are confident that this change represents a positive step towards a brighter future for healthcare in Bosque County. We deeply appreciate the support and understanding of
our residents, their families, and the community as we embark on this new chapter.
