How Can I Prevent an Ingrown Toenail?

Unfortunately, there's no way to prevent ingrown toenails entirely. However, there are steps you can take to lower your risk significantly. For example, you should always try and trim your toenails straight across instead of tapering the corners. You should also wear comfortable socks and shoes that have plenty of room for your toes to wiggle around and breathe.

Does Smoking Really Cause Wrinkles?

Yes. Cigarette smoke contains more than 4,000 different chemicals. Every time you inhale a drag, ni****ne enters your bloodstream, causing your blood vessels to contract. This prevents oxygen and other vital nutrients from reaching the surface of your skin. Over time, your skin begins to wrinkle, sag, and fold. It's a tough habit to break, but quitting smoking is one of the best health decisions you can make.

Why Should I Drink Water?

The human body is approximately 60% water. Therefore, it's critically important you stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water doesn't just quench your thirst, either.

Water helps your body:
Regulate temperature
Lubricate and cushion your joints
Protect your spinal cord and other sensitive tissues
Eradicate waste

Try and challenge yourself to drink 8, 8-ounce glasses of water every day. Your body will thank you!

Why Is High Blood Pressure Called the 'Silent Killer'?

Doctors often refer to high blood pressure as the 'silent killer' because it presents no obvious symptoms. In fact, there are millions of men and women living with high blood pressure who don't even realize it. You can significantly lower your risk of high blood pressure by visiting the doctor at least once a year for a preventive physical exam. Exercising regularly, eating a healthy diet, and getting plenty of sleep all encourage good cardiovascular health, as well.

Corns and calluses are hard, thick patches of skin that often develop on the feet in response to injury, pressure, or friction. Ill-fitting shoes, sweaty feet, and prolonged periods standing may be responsible. We describe prevention, symptoms, means of removal, and home remedies for corns and callu...

However, with continuous, intense physical activity, you can cause inflammation of the Achilles tendon, also known as Achilles tendonitis. If you find that the pain doesn't improve, it may be time to see a doctor before your tendon is at risk of tearing.
