Reflecting on Juneteenth

Yesterday, we commemorated Juneteenth, marking the day in 1865 when enslaved African Americans in Texas were finally informed of their freedom, two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued. As we continue through June, we remember that Juneteenth is more than a day; it’s a reminder of the journey towards freedom, equity, and justice.
