This week, Dr. Hakimi was able to save a mother and her newborn sons' lives... a few minutes after meeting them for the first time. You may be aware that a woman who has had a previous C-section has a small chance of rupturing her uterus if she elects to have a VBAC, which means to try and go natural this time. Ana & Carlos together, with their group of doctors, decided to try for a VBAC. Everything was going well with Ana's labor. The nurse noted some mild fetal heart decelerations while Ana continued to experience nausea for one hour. The nurse was on the phone with Ana's doctor. All this happened while Dr. Hakimi was taking care of one of his patients next door and discovered what was going on. He phoned Ana's doctor and stated that he believed that Ana was in the process of rupturing her uterus and advised Dr. X that the patient needed an emergency c-section and that he would do the surgery without waiting for Dr X to arrive. The C Section was performed, a ruptured uterus was discovered, and the hemorrhage was brought under control immediately. The picture above shows Ana and Carlos in the recovery area after the emergency operation which had a great outcome. Dr. Hakimi discovered that Ana and Carlos are indeed a very sweet couple. In appreciation of his sharp and quick diagnostic capabilities, they are naming the baby Carlos "Daniel" after Dr. Hakimi. We were honored to help bring your beautiful son safely into the world and humbled by your amazing gesture ๐Ÿ™

" I used to dread going to bed with my husband when he got home from a long day at work. I was struggling with the fact that I always had to say no to him. Even worse, he thought that he was the problem and that made me feel guilty. I finally decided to bring this up with Dr. Hakimi. He and his midwife, Rachel started me on an FDA-APPROVED medication and then made some adjustments to the dose. The rest is magic. Two weeks later, I started to feel the difference, and now 4 weeks later, my husband can't keep up with me! Thank you, Dr. Hakimi!" Sarah S.

Congratulations to Diana and Paul on the birth of your beautiful premie son! Today, Dr. Hakimi arrived back in the office after another long night. Diana, who was pregnant at 32 weeks, experienced decreased fetal movement. She came to the Labor and Delivery at Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center last night. Dr. Hakimi quickly arrived and checked mom and the baby. Baby's heart strip monitors were reassuring at times, and they were questionable at others. Difficult decisions had to be made in order to deliver Diana prematurely. Steroids were given to accelerate fetal lung maturity. However, steroids need 48 hours after administration to work. Finally, with Dr. Hakimi 's experience and judgment, he decided to deliver Diana. Upon entry into the abdomen, an almost ruptured uterus was discovered. What else? The cord was wrapped around the baby's neck four times very tightly. Cases like this usually end up with a sudden fetal demise, but mirculously, we were able to deliver a healthy baby.
We want to express our gratitude to the NICU nurses, neunatoglogist, and the rest of the hardworking staff. Because of your dedication, baby boy is doing excellent, and requires no ventellation, acting like a term mature baby. We really appreciate you.

Just now, we had the privilege of delivering a healthy baby girl to a dear patient of ours since 2005.

We recently detected that the baby wasn't growing as it should have inside the womb. Small babies sometimes don't tolerate the stress of labor. On top of this, there was a tight cord wrapped around the baby's neck, and therefore, the baby's heart rate kept dropping. Instead of doing a c-section like most would, Dr. Hakimi was able to manually rotate the baby's head and facilitate the baby's delivery. Most importantly, the ceserean was avoided because of Fabiola's resolve and stamina.

To top this off, assisting her mother as a "doula" was her daughter, Rachel, whom Dr. Hakimi delivered in 2007! You guys are always part of our family.

A very big thank you to the great nursing team and the NICU staff at the delivery!

Congratulations!

May you always shine and inspire the world around you. Wishing you endless success, love, and happiness today and always...
