I had the honor of sharing yoga with the teens of this summer. We learned how to breathe on purpose, engage in fun poses with a partner, relax in savasana, and use mantras. They learned to create their own "I Am..." mantras and our class themes centered around "Peace Begins with Me."

Teenagers present with their own set of unique challenges and I had to step out of my comfort zone several times to meet them where they were.

They were reluctant at first, but after building trust with consistent practice they became more willing to let go and try something new. I admire their curiosity, bravery and strength.

They taught me acceptance in a way I had never thought of before, especially relating to my relationship with the digital media age which is vastly different than my experience as a teen.

Thank you Boys and Girls Club of Clifton for this opportunity and thank you to the teens for your participation!
