❤️ To the Athlete in Transition — and to My Sons’ Final Year in High School and College Football 🏈
Your sport has been a huge part of your life, but it has never been the whole of who you are. From the inside-out, your worth was never defined by stats, roles, or even the jersey you wore. Those things shaped your journey, but they don’t determine your value.
The truth is—you were whole before you ever picked up a ball, or stepped onto the field. You’re still whole now.
The qualities that made you strong in sport—discipline, resilience, teamwork, courage—are not tied to the scoreboard. They’re inside you. That means you carry them forward into whatever comes next.
Your sport was something you did. It’s not who you are. Who you are is already bigger, deeper, and more permanent than the game could ever define.
So when the season ends, or your career closes, remember this: your identity and your worth are untouchable. The jersey comes off, but you remain—and that is more than enough.❤️
