A message from Brittany, Founder + Owner of SheWolf Fitness:
The Rise of the Pack Rebranding Event is almost upon us and our entire SheWolf Team can’t wait to see you there🩷
In light of handing everything over to our new brand and aesthetic and welcoming you all to walk the future with us, I think a bit of personal history can help you to understand who we are, what makes us different, and how we ended up here.
I had my first real transformation between the years of 2016-2018. Prior to then, I struggled with body image and chasing a physique that I thought wasn’t attainable for me. I spent years and hundreds of dollars trying every single program marketed towards women to feel good in my skin. It was all I knew because I am a millennial, after all. Millennial women and those before us and even those after us on the cusp know full-well that there’s no shortage of programs promising us the world and many of us know that the ROI is poor.
I was frustrated and felt broken, insecure, self-conscious, and ultimately hopeless. As a last resort, I began strength training with a reputable trainer in the area. It took a LOT for me to start lifting weights seriously. I feared becoming “bulky”, I was terrified of the gym, and I thought it was certainly going to be another expensive failed effort.
It wasn’t. Within a year of lifting consistently and properly, I ended up on stage for my first bodybuilding competition. And in retrospect, that was eye opening. YEARS of failed attempts, trying everything under the sun except for ONE thing-truly dialing in nutrition and lifting weights to finally figure it out.
It infuriated me. Not because it took so long to get where I wanted to go or because the answer was so much simpler than I imagined, but because I knew women had been kept out of the weightlifting conversation throughout the course of my lifetime. Because we were told we didn’t belong. Because marketers thought we needed everything shrouded in florals to make a change. Because we were told cardio is the only answer.
And because I KNEW my entire generation was being left in the dark.
And my mission became clear. I could not let another woman suffer as i had. I knew I wasn’t the only one.
So i made moves. Within a year of competing, I became certified in both personal training + nutrition. A year later, Body By Brittany was born. From that point forward, I have made it a point to save as many women as possible from the same runaround I endured. The same hopelessness. The same unhealthy relationships with food. The yo-yo dieting. Expensive programs that provide marginal results and never tell you how to keep going on your own, as if this information is as secret as what lies at the bottom of the great pyramid.
I felt so deeply that women were underserved in this space that I trained in all of my spare moments outside of my full time career for YEARS. And month after month, my training changed more and more women’s lives. Speaking and teaching the truth, handing over power and confidence, and creating transformations that last lifetimes.
In 2023, I left my career as a Global Field Clinical Specialist in Electrophysiology Research to open the studios you see today. Of course, that was Body By Brittany.
And since then, we’ve grown. We’ve become an absolute powerhouse with 4 personal trainers, 8 class instructors, and HUNDREDS of women in and out of our TWO studios.
We’ve helped women through perimenopause and menopause, life changes and aging, pregnancy + postpartum, and all other seasons of life. We’ve trained mostly women who were like myself-had never touched a barbell before and this year, three of those women have already taken the stage or are doing so next weekend.
When I started, it was just me-a woman scorned by the female-targeted fitness industry looking to scream the truth from the top of the world.
Today, there are hundreds of us preaching the truth through our community and by my side.
On the walk over to where we are now, there are things I learned about strength training from my own experience and the other women who’ve trained here:
It is the most effective means of not only changing your body but also for becoming the most powerful, fearless, gritty, and diligent force of nature you were intended to be.
And that’s why SheWolf is the now.
I believe what we do changes lives, brings truth, builds community, and strengthens women from the inside out. We were always intended to be a force. We bear the children of the world. We are intended to be both feminine and fierce.
Our rebranding event isn’t just about changing our signs-it’s about changing the rhetoric that has led us nowhere. This IS a movement and we ARE on the front lines.
I hope you can be with us next Thursday to experience our passion, our knowledge, our truth, our commitment, our community, and to see what makes us stand out.
You deserve to know.
