Ultra-processed foods now make up more than 50% of the average American diet—even in home-cooked meals.

Here’s why that matters:

🥦 1. Nutrient Deficiency – These foods are often stripped of key nutrients your brain and body need.
🧠 2. Brain Impact – Studies link ultra-processed diets to cognitive decline and increased risk of Alzheimer’s.
❤️ 3. Long-Term Health Risks – They’ve been associated with inflammation, insulin resistance, and cardiovascular issues.

The shift toward convenience is costing us our health. Start by checking labels and choosing whole, minimally processed foods when you can. Small changes, big impact.

…in the cause and prevention of dis-ease.

The greatest doctor is not one who simply gives you medications (or supplements for that matter) but instead, one who helps educate and empower you to take back control of your health!

The word “doctor” originally meant “teacher” in its Latin root “docere,” which means “to teach.”

To that matter, some of the greatest “doctors” I know don’t have the medical degree, but instead are those who are passionate about optimizing their own health and helping inspire and encourage the people around them to improve their health.

We live in a watching and waiting world and people are looking for those who authentically live differently than others and stand for something important.

You can be someone who inspires others by living a healthy lifestyle.

You can be someone who makes a real difference in a sick, lonely, addicted and suffering world

You can be someone who represents your faith and your family with honor and integrity

You can be someone who God uses to influence and impact those around you.

You never know how “big” something seemingly small that you think, say or do will be on others around you today!

Be a blessing to others in the way you carry yourself and the words you speak today!

Just a quick reminder from our doctors here at Performance Health:

Hitting the gym won’t cancel out poor food choices. Nutrition and movement go hand in hand for optimal health. Here’s why:

🥗 Fuel matters – The right foods support performance, recovery, and longevity.
🔥 Metabolism isn’t a magic eraser – Excess junk food leads to inflammation, no matter how much you train.
💪 Muscle vs. fat storage – You can build strength, but a poor diet can still lead to weight gain and metabolic issues.
🧠 Gut-brain connection – The food you eat impacts mood, energy, and cognitive function just as much as exercise.
❤️ Longevity is the goal – Movement and nutrition together create lasting health—not just short-term results.

Train smart. Eat smart. Thrive. 🚀
