The Arc of Macomb has been so proud to partner with CBHJโs DIBS program! Through this program, we have been able to help almost 100 people with disabilities to access services and avoid contacts with the criminal justice system.
The CBHJโs Diversion Intervention through Boundary Spanning (DIBS) evaluation and consulting team shared program updates this week with the Michigan Mental Health Diversion Council.
Since April 2023, CBHJ has partnered with four pilot sites across Michigan to develop boundary spanner programs that strengthen cross-system collaboration and improve continuity of care for adults with behavioral health concerns involved in the criminal legal system.
Pilot partners for the project were Summit Pointe of Calhoun County, Integrated Services of Kalamazoo, The Arc of Macomb County and Community Mental Health of Ottawa County.
Representatives from the pilot sites shared how collaboration, early partner engagement, and addressing social determinants of health support individuals as they build skills to improve their success in the community. Additional jail-based outcomes will be shared by the CBHJ/DIBS data team later this spring.
