Easterseals MORC’s Working with People marks the first step in your learning journey that will guide you through the principles of a Culture of Gentleness, equip you with skills to build a more compassionate approach to care, and connect you with the wider Culture of Gentleness working tirelessly to ensure the folks we serve feel safe and valued.
Working with People teaches the fundamentals of providing positive supports and the crucial role of the Direct Care Worker / Direct Support Professional. This training provides the foundational principles of developing and strengthening supportive relationships as a strategy to reduce challenges; creating a launch pad for growth and healing.
Working with People is entirely free.
Engage in interactive discussions topics such as:
Elements that lead to others feeling more safe and more valued
How one’s trauma history can influence behavior
Proactively planning to reduce stress and challenges
The importance of supporting all involved
Key strategies and coping methods for addressing challenging behavior
Effective steps to maintain caring and supportive relationships in the face of these challenges
We look forward to you sharing your own experiences and connecting with likeminded support and care professionals who share our philosophy of a positive approach to supports.
