Do you want to take a partnership role in enhancing your emotional, physical, and behavioral health? I help people to actively recover from depression, anxiety and other mood disorders, manage emotional and behavioral aspects of chronic pain and illness, and develop and practice the specific attitudes, skills, and behaviors central to physical and psychological well-being. My mission is to provide empirically based psychological health services. Areas of expertise include mindfulness-based cognitive behavioral psychotherapy, skill training for pain management, stress management, and techniques to maximize recovery from addiction and life changing illnesses. I am a participating provider in Excellus Blue Cross/Blue Shield and Medicare.

If I can figure out how to do it, I’m going to shut down this page. Over time, Facebook’s algorithms have resulted in a majority of posts that are irrelevant ads and memes. I had intended the page to reflect my professional interests and practice. I no longer think that’s possible. It’s certainly more difficult than it’s worth. This is an important article. The amount of sugar we eat is enormous compared to our grandparents and great grandparents. It contributes to multiple diseases and to food addiction, which in many ways is much harder to recover from than other substance or process addictions. The less added sugar you consume, the better your health.

I would like to say this is unbelievable. Unfortunately, it is very believable. Our healthcare system is fundamentally corrupted by the profit motive. And now hedge funds are coming into the system, buying hospitals and practices, maximizing their profit, and leaving them in tatters.
