State Foresters advised today that the small amounts of rain we have received in the parish, though needed, is not sufficient to remove the burn ban. Dry and breezy weather is forecasted in the near future for our area. Sub-surface materials such as thick organics from defoliating trees are still dry and considered a fuel hazard for fires. Thank you for your patience in this matter. We are all ready to get to those bonfires on these cool afternoons but SAFETY FIRST.
