Raising a child with emotional or behavioral challenges can feel overwhelming—but you don’t have to navigate it alone.

At Life Connections, our Behavioral Health Intervention Services (BHIS) are designed to support your child right at home, where it matters most. This program is tailored for children and teens ages 4–18 who are already receiving mental health therapy and need extra tools to manage emotions, build healthy relationships, and succeed in everyday life.

What makes BHIS different?
• Sessions take place in your home, where your child feels safe and supported
• We work directly with you to help reinforce new skills in real-life situations
• Covered by Medicaid (Title 19) and available for private pay
• Focused on practical progress through structured, compassionate care

If your child is struggling with anger, anxiety, or behavior that’s interfering with their daily life, BHIS may be the next right step.

Start Planning Now: Family Health & Fitness Day is Next Saturday – June 14

Now is the perfect time to start preparing for a meaningful and healthy day with your loved ones. Family Health & Fitness Day is coming up next Saturday, and it's a great reminder to be intentional about your family’s physical and emotional well-being.

What is Family Health & Fitness Day all about?
Created by the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), this annual observance encourages families to embrace healthy lifestyles by spending time together in parks, engaging in outdoor play, and making movement a fun, shared experience.

The behavioral and emotional health benefits are real:

Children who engage in regular physical activity with their families are 40% less likely to experience symptoms of depression.

Just 20 minutes of physical activity can lead to improved mood, reduced anxiety, and better focus—for both kids and adults.

Families who spend active time together report higher levels of emotional connection and lower stress levels, according to the American Psychological Association.

Here are a few ways you can start planning now for a great Saturday:

• Schedule a morning walk, bike ride, or hike at your local park

• Plan a healthy family picnic with fresh, nutritious snacks

• Pack a frisbee, soccer ball, or jump ropes for fun movement games

• Try a family-friendly yoga or stretching session outdoors

• Bring conversation cards or journals for reflection and gratitude moments

You don’t need fancy equipment or a gym membership—just a willingness to show up for your health and each other.

Let this be the beginning of a healthier, more connected routine for your family.

Every Second Counts — Be the Difference
June 1–7 is CPR and AED Awareness Week, a powerful reminder that anyone can help save a life. When a person experiences cardiac arrest, immediate CPR and access to an AED can double or even triple their chances of survival.

You don’t have to be a medical professional to make a life-saving impact — you just need the knowledge and the courage to act. Whether at home, at work, or in public, being prepared could mean everything to someone in need.

This week, take a moment to learn more, get trained, and share the importance of CPR and AED awareness with your family, friends, or coworkers.

Celebrate National CPR and AED Awareness Week in your community. AHA has created free materials that you can print on your home or office printer.

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month

Let’s talk about it.

Far too often, men suffer in silence—taught to "man up" instead of speak up. But strength isn’t staying quiet. Strength is asking for help. Strength is showing up, even when it’s hard. Strength is choosing healing over hiding.

This month, we recognize the importance of breaking the stigma and encouraging open, honest conversations about mental health—because mental health is health.

✅ You are not weak.
✅ You are not alone.
✅ You are not invisible.

If you or someone you know is struggling, reach out. There is support. There is hope. There is a way forward.

June is PTSD Awareness Month.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder can affect anyone — veterans, survivors, first responders, and those who have faced any form of trauma. It's not a weakness. It's not something you just "get over." But healing is possible.
If you're living with PTSD, please know this:

You are not broken.
You are not alone.
You are not your trauma.

Help is real. Recovery is possible. And every step you take — even the smallest one — is a step forward.

💚 This month, let’s break the silence. Let’s hold space for those who are hurting. Let’s share hope — because no one should carry this alone.

If you or someone you love is struggling, there are people who care, who listen, and who can help.

As the weekend arrives, it's the perfect time to take a step back, breathe, and reconnect with yourself. Life moves fast—and sometimes, we forget how important it is to simply be rather than always do. Your mental and behavioral health deserve just as much care and attention as your physical health, and the weekend offers a gentle reminder: it's okay to slow down.

Use these days to nourish your mind and spirit. That might mean taking a quiet walk, spending time with someone who makes you smile, unplugging from screens, or simply sitting in silence with a cup of coffee. Whatever helps you feel more grounded, more whole—lean into that.

Progress in mental health isn't about perfection. It's about small, meaningful steps: giving yourself grace, choosing rest when you're tired, reaching out when you need connection. This weekend, be kind to yourself. You're doing better than you think.

🌿 Okay okay… we know it’s only Tuesday. But mental health doesn’t run on a calendar, and honestly, we couldn’t wait for Wellness Wednesday to share this one.

🧠 Did you know that nearly 60 million adults in the U.S.—about 1 in 4—experience a mental illness each year?

Yet, more than half of those individuals don't receive treatment. Mental health challenges are more common than many realize, and addressing them is essential for overall well-being.

Here are four simple, evidence-based ways to support your mental health today:

💪 Move Your Body
Just 30 minutes of walking a day can boost your mood, reduce stress, and improve sleep.

🤝 Connect with Loved Ones
Spending quality time with friends or family increases emotional resilience and reminds you that you're not alone.

🧘 Practice Mindfulness
A few minutes of deep breathing or quiet reflection each day can calm your mind and improve focus.

📱 Limit Screen Time
Too much social media can contribute to anxiety and depression—especially in younger adults. Take breaks and stay present.

✨ Remember: Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Your mental health matters—today and every day.
