Every body deserves respect. I serve as a doula and massage therapist in northern Utah.

Clean up time after a massage! While some spas reuse blankets or just have a fleece liner under their sheets, sanitation is very important to me. In part, I'm sure, it's because I did my massage training after Covid! I was taught best practices for how to keep my space cleaned properly. I use a wipeable liner on my table and face rest so that I can sanitize between clients. I switch out all my linens (including blankets) between clients and do everything I can to make sure a massage with me is as safe and comfortable as possible.

Finally got to meet Dr. Hubbard with at his open house today. We spoke about his classroom space, his text plan, and his home visits. If you're looking for a pediatrician who is flexible, he might just be your guy!

Anytime I meet with a client due near a holiday, I give this advice. As a doula, I know that if I'm signing on for an estimated due date of December 20, I might miss Christmas or New Years with my family to be there for my clients on their special day. For me, that's a huge part of why I want to make sure I feel like a great fit for my clients (and that they feel like a great fit for me!) Because if I'm leaving my kids on Christmas to open presents without me, I should love my clients enough that it's totally worth it.
(Spoiler alert- it has always been worth it and my family is super understanding)
If your medical provider doesn't feel the same way, explore all the possibilities. Maybe induction sounds good to you and you want to explore that avenue, or maybe you want to meet the person who would attend your birth on the holiday. The only wrong choice is the one you aren't allowed to make.
