Mr. Burchfield’s journey is one to celebrate at The Woodlands! 👏💙

After experiencing a fall, he arrived with everyday tasks feeling like a challenge—but his determination never wavered. Through hard work in therapy, he focused on improving mobility, transfers, hygiene, dressing, toileting, and walking. Day by day, he grew stronger and more confident.

We are proud to share that Mr. Burchfield has successfully discharged to assisted living with increased independence and confidence. His positive attitude and dedication truly made all the difference.

🐣✨ Easter Fun in Occupational Therapy! ✨🐣

Who says therapy can’t be fun? Our patients are getting into the Easter spirit while working hard on their goals! Using colorful Easter pop-its, we’re strengthening fine motor skills, improving hand coordination, and increasing finger dexterity—all through engaging, hands-on activities. 🐰💛

From pressing and popping to targeted grasp and release exercises, these simple tools make a big impact on independence with everyday tasks like buttoning, writing, and self-care.

We love finding creative ways to make therapy meaningful AND enjoyable—because progress happens best when smiles are involved! 🌷🙌

Ms. LaPoint came to our facility following a hospitalization feeling weak and needing support to regain her strength. Through dedication, determination, and hard work in therapy, she made incredible progress every single day.

She crushed her goals in walking, balance, stair navigation, overall hygiene, and both upper and lower body dressing—and did it all with a positive attitude! 💪

Now, she’s not just leaving… she’s strutting out the door and heading home with confidence and independence! 👏

Ms. Armstrong came to The Woodlands after a knee fracture, facing challenges with mobility and independence. Through hard work, determination, and dedication to her therapy program, she made incredible progress every step of the way.

She successfully achieved her goals—including improved walking, safe transfers, and independence with self-care ADLs—and we are so proud to celebrate her success!

Woodlands brought a little Southern tradition to life with our Fried Green Tomatoes Activity!

Our residents enjoyed the full experience—from reminiscing about old family recipes to watching (and helping!) as these golden, crispy favorites were prepared fresh. The smiles, laughter, and stories shared made this activity extra special.

💙💙March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about one of the most preventable cancers when detected early.💙💙

Colon cancer often develops without symptoms, which is why regular screenings are so important. Screening can detect precancerous polyps before they become cancer.

✔️ If you are 45 or older, talk with your healthcare provider about screening.
✔️ Know your family history.
✔️ Pay attention to symptoms such as persistent abdominal pain, changes in bowel habits, blood in stool, or unexplained weight loss.

Early detection saves lives. Take a moment this month to check in with your doctor and encourage your loved ones to do the same.
