As of this writing, I’m half way through my Masters in Thanatology degree and I think I’ve finally figured out what I want to do with it once I’m done.
GRIEF COACHING FOR NON-DEATH LOSSES
A grief coach for non-death losses works with individuals dealing with various forms of loss that do not involve the death of a loved one. This can include losses such as:
1. Divorce or Relationship Loss - Helping clients navigate the emotional turmoil of ending a significant relationship
2. Job Loss - Supporting individuals who have lost their jobs and are facing identity and financial challenges.
3. Health Changes - Assisting clients coping with chronic illness, disability, or major health transitions that alter their quality of life.
4. Loss of a Pet - Providing support for those grieving the loss of a beloved pet, which can be just as profound as losing a human companion.
5. Life Transitions - Guiding clients through significant life changes, such as moving to a new city, retirement, or empty nesting, which can evoke feelings of loss.
6. Loss of Dreams or Goals - Supporting clients who are struggling with unmet expectations or aspirations, such as not achieving personal or professional goals.
7. Infertility - Supporting clients who are or have struggled with the loss of infertility and the rollercoaster of emotions and grief that accompany it
Grief coaches for non-death losses help clients:
Process Emotions
Develop Coping Strategies
Set Goals
Foster Resilience
This means that I may have additional schooling to do after the Masters to include International Coaching Federation Accreditation. Why? Because I believe it’s important for me to be well qualified so that I can be the best for YOU. 🫶
