What a wonderful anatomy short identifying some of our favorite nerve branches! BONUS: at the very beginning, watch for the brief opportunity to witness how the nerves pass through the scalenes BEFORE they reach the more common culprit area near the collarbone.
Typically called, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, your client will present with pain/numbness/tingling down the arm and even out to the fingers. But if your client isn’t improving with chest and shoulder work, consider the scalene entrapment and discuss forward head posture, particularly if they may have a desk job with an offset monitor.
This can look like a single monitor which is to the right or left of midline to the direction the client types and use the mouse. Another is if they have two monitors BOTH being left and right of midline preventing the client from ever liking straight on.
I just posted the January class for those of you who have taken the Intro & Foundation course and are ready to deepen your understanding of how to identify, treat, and create awareness with your client about the origins of these Upper Body Dysfunctions.
