Many of my clients come and see me after trying to heal their physical & mental health--without a lot of success.
And many times it is because the root-causes haven't been addressed and or they have been misdiagnosed.
As a clinician who has multiple root-cause specialties, one of them being Trauma--I look at my clients very holistically.
And I cannot even begin to tell you how many clients have been misdiagnosed with something on this list when they really have Complex PTSD or C-PTSD.
C-PTSD also shows up in your health conditions, diseases, career, relationships, finances, substance use, & every other facet of life.
Without someone even disclosing a Trauma history, I may notice Trauma in how you walk, talk, perceptions, facial expressions, voice, posture, & your health conditions.
Trauma-Informed Mental Health Practitioners are specialists within the mental health world.
If you have only done talk therapy or been diagnosed with several health conditions without explanation then you likely haven't worked with a Trauma-Informed Mental Health Specialist.
Keep going.🌿

Many mental health professionals are still lacking in assessing for trauma. I was one for them for many years and it took a lot of training and self healing to understand trauma.
Many providers are quick to label people with a list of diagnosis but many times they don’t look at the history of the person and only focus on the symptoms.
People with trauma meet the criteria of several “disorders.“
But when we really look at the history of the person, we know that it’s trauma and they’re coming with a dysregulated autonomic nervous system.
Complex PTSD needs proper support and guidance, but when it is misdiagnosed, you can be led in the wrong direction, keeping you from appropriate treatment that will help manage the effects of your trauma.
We need more mental health professionals who understand the impact of childhood trauma on adults. The more trauma-informed we become, the better we will serve those who seek help and guidance.
If you have a history of trauma and have several diagnoses, look for providers who are trauma-informed.
