The pictures below show a young athlete with extreme tightness for which we used a sports massage and cupping to help increase mobility, reduce pain/tension and help with healing. The picture with the darker cupping marks were taken just a few hours later and they show the athlete was having severe stagnation. These marks signal that the therapy is pulling deep-seated, non-circulating blood and metabolic waste to the surface to stimulate circulation. These marks are NOT bruises and do not hurt; they are apart of the body's healing response to restore free circulation. This severe stagnation can be caused by Chronic Injuries/Pain, Severe Tension and Toxin Accumulation.
