(positive)
Jolly,
Happy
Festive,
Ecstatic

Depressed,
Sad,
Disappointed,
Frustrated,
Disappointed,
Lonesome,
and so much more.

I help with these negative emotions and help make sense of a season that used to be looking forward to new beginnings, commercialism, and spiritual meanings of this season.

Some fun questions for kids of all ages:
Did you know that in the United States, it was illegal to celebrate Christmas?
How does Santa Claus fit into the winter season?
Why are there 8 reindeer pulling the sled and why is Rudolph not in the original lineup of reindeer?
Did you know all the reindeer pulling the sled are does?

Recently I met a passionate professional, Katie Friedman, LDO who has refocused her attention to helping ophthalmologists and patients who are in danger of having their "old eyes" lose vision. She has a plethora of resources and skills to help anyone in danger of diminishing vision. Because of her, I joined the Council of Citizens with Low Vision International https://cclvi.info to help people with the concomitant fear and anxiety of vision loss.

Watch for my upcoming book "Hypnosis Nuggets of Other Therapists." This book has been two years in the making. It distills many tools, from 25 years as a professional hypnotist helping clients recover from a lifelong smoking habit to the more esoteric problems related to childhood trauma, PTSD, and physical disabilities. The book is a compilation of techniques psychotherapists can incorporate to make sessions more manageable and fruitful. Hypnosis Nuggets is not a course on becoming a Hypnotherapist but rather on incorporating easy-to-use hypnosis tools into your practice.
I wrote this book because an experienced therapist with more than 25 years of experience using CBT protocol encouraged its value. This small book will become a resource model for any psychotherapist who wants new tools to help their patients.

According to a recent survey conducted by the American Psychological Association (APA), nearly 1 in 5 employees state that their workplace is somewhat or very toxic. Arthur C. Evans, the CEO of the APA, expressed concern about the number of people facing a toxic work environment without any safeguards against harm. He emphasized the need to create a positive work environment for all employees.
The survey revealed that those working in toxic environments were over three times more likely to experience harm to their mental health compared to those in healthy workplaces. About 52 percent of people in toxic workplaces reported mental health issues, while only 15 percent in healthy work environments did the same.
Overall, 22 percent of all workers stated that their mental health had been negatively affected at work, and an equal percentage reported experiencing workplace harassment in the past 12 months. This marked an increase from the previous year when only 14 percent reported harassment at work.
The prevalence of toxic workplaces varied by industry, with customer service, client, or patient-related jobs being more susceptible to verbal abuse. Workers in manual labor and office jobs also faced verbal abuse, but manual laborers were more likely to report experiencing physical threats.
The poll was conducted from April 17 to 27, with 2,515 employed adults participating, and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points at a 95 percent confidence level.

We have all heard all the reasons to quit smoking drummed into our heads for years, yet people continue to smoke. They continue because they had good reasons to start smoking that are stronger than the reasons to quit. So, this post is NOT for smokers, but for the caregivers and potential caregivers of their smoking relatives. Here is some information for you so you can prepare yourselves for the inevitable care smokers may need.

“Recent research has shown that provokes white blood cells in the central nervous system to attack healthy cells, leading to severe neurological damage a compound in to***co products.

But again, you’re not out of the woods simply by using alternative to***co products. Chewing to***co, for example, carries the same inherent addiction pattern seen in ci******es. Not only that, according to the Center for the Advancement of Health, the ni****ne in smokeless to***co reduces an individual’s ability to perform complex tasks that require hand and body movements to adjust to new visual feedback.

To put it simply: don’t use to***co, in any form. It will damage your entire life, including your brain. If you do use to***co, it is imperative to your health that you find resources to help you quit. (West, J, 2023 YouthfulBrainBlueprint-Ebook-min2 )”

You may become more forgetful or not be able to think as quickly as you did when you were younger. But if you smoke, you may experience faster cognitive decline than nonsmokers (West, J, 2023 YouthfulBrainBlueprint-Ebook-min2 )”.

"Smokers also have an increased risk of dementia, a condition that can affect memory, thinking abilities, language skills, judgment, and behavior. It may also cause personality changes.

“A 2015 research review looked at 37 studies comparing smokers and nonsmokers and found that smokers were 30 percent more likely to develop dementia (https://www.healthline.com/health/smoking/smoking-effects-on-brain)”

“Smokers show an increased risk of dementia, and smoking cessation decreases the risk to that of never-smokers (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4357455/).”

If you want more information on the best way to have your smokers quit, call me at 559-285-0784 or check out https://macys-hypnosis.com

I have asked medical first responders what is the first thing they say to a patient when they arrive at the scene. Most will tell me they check for orientation and do triage.

Perhaps a better way to approach those involved in crisis is to tell them, "The worst is over, I will take care of you, focus on me."

Why?
Because anyone involved in the crisis is in a state of self-induced hypnosis, and having them somewhat dissociate from the event and focus on the medical personnel the victims will respond to any future care in a more positive way and be more cooperative.

Moving Forward

Jim learned Hypnosis in 1954-1955 and has had a successful professional career since early 2000. He first started doing hypnosis on the phone, then opened an office in 2002, and, after closing the office in 2013 returned to the more effective telephone sessions. When asked why more hypnotists don’t do phone sessions he admitted he didn’t know but said that it might be because phone work is more difficult and need to be practiced, practiced, practiced to be really effective. helping people overcome negative self-images and ideas.
