This morning, we were honored to present Dr. Josh Short of our Emergency Department with our Purple Orchid Award. 💜

The Purple Orchid recognizes providers whose care goes beyond the call of duty; the kind of personalized, compassionate, above-and-beyond care that patients and colleagues never forget.

In the Emergency Department, where seconds matter and the stakes are high, Dr. Short brings something that can't be taught: humanity. Steady hands and quick thinking in moments of chaos, yes - but also the ability to see not just a patient, but a person. To bring calm into fear, clarity into uncertainty, and hope into some of life's hardest moments.

Patients may not remember every detail of their visit, but they remember how Dr. Short made them feel: safe, respected, and not alone. And it's not only patients. From EVS and security to CNAs, nurses, and administration, Dr. Short speaks to everyone with respect, notices the small details, and asks about their lives. That kind of leadership creates order out of chaos and gives the whole team the confidence to do their jobs better.
