11 days can be enough to begin to shift everything.

I continue to be amazed by what somatic yoga is doing in my body and my life as well as what I am witnessing in the people I work with.

If you feel like you’ve tried everything, I gently invite you to try something different.
I invite you to come back into your body and begin to truly heal, from the inside out.

It all starts with you, but you’re never ever alone.

Exciting new ways to work with me are coming soon, so make sure you stay tuned.

So grateful for you. 💜

I was afraid of my body starting early.

I can remember thinking there was something wrong with it and trying to control it before I was even ten.

How heartbreaking that the very doorway to our true internal power and truth and love got hijacked by society’s programming and fears.

I am only now learning what it feels like to connect to my true source of power, and I would love for you to join me.

The 11 day devotion is wrapping up tomorrow and new inspirations are unfolding, so make sure you follow along.

So grateful for your love and support.
Because that’s another thing that is very clear to me now - none of us does this life alone. 💜

The Enneagram is a brilliant system that describes the whole human, the complete human.

What does this mean?
This is you when you embody all that you are, body, mind, and heart. This is you in presence and alignment.

What do you feel from this place?
Empowerment
Radiance
Connection
Stability
Joy
Peace
Truth
Love

These are the true qualities of humanity, what we are here meant to embody and practice.

Something truly beautiful happens when we understand our patterns consciously with something like the Enneagram and couple that with body-based, nervous system practices.

We arrive in a felt sense of our gifts.
We arrive in a felt sense of compassion for our patterns.

And the other beautiful thing about the Enneagram?
Learning about each type teaches you about the gift in you. Truly we are all the types.

Follow for more on the Enneagram + your core gift.
Live mini course coming soon 💜

Breathing into my center and remembering what is true.

Truth feels like love.
Not pressure. Not proving.

We all have coping mechanisms for getting through challenge.

I might work harder.
Push.
Drive at the problem to fix, solve, or overcome it.

Or I might disengage.
Turn inward.
Tune out.
Numb.

And notice how these responses are labeled in our world:

Pushing and driving?
Acceptable.
Even praised.

Workaholic? Applauded.
Over-giver? Celebrated.
Perfectionist? Admired.

But disengaging, numbing, shutting down?
That’s the one we judge.

But both are ways we leave ourselves.

Both are ways we move out of presence with what’s actually here.

And the practice isn’t to become one or the other…

It’s to notice the moment you leave
and gently return to your body, your breath, your experience.

That’s where your power is.
That’s where your radiance lives.

The Head (Mind) Types experience stress first in the mind, seeking security and certainty.

(As opposed to the Instinctual/Body Types who experience stress first in the gut with a need to respond, or the Emotional/Heart Types who experience stress first in their self-concept and identity.)

But each of the Mind Types has a different strategy for creating that sense of safety:

Type 5: withdraw inward to build a secure inner world of knowledge and understanding

Type 6: seek stability and security by looking to systems, structures, or trusted guidance outside themselves

Type 7: seek safety by focusing on possibilities, reframing discomfort, and planning the next positive experience

Can you see any of these patterns in yourself?
Does it help you understand others in your life?

Let me know! 👇

And remember, the Enneagram is about noticing patterns and the drives behind them so that we can see ourselves and others with more compassion and grace.

You contain all 9 types within you, but most people have one type that resonates most strongly as their core motivation and coping strategy.

I’m here to guide you through the Enneagram and more. Reach out if you have questions.

Pause as soon as you become aware that you’re looping.

Take 2–3 complete, full breaths.
(Seriously… do it 🙃)

Then ask yourself:
Which mind is speaking right now?

Is this my ego mind?
Or is this my higher mind — my deeper consciousness?

If it’s your ego, just notice that.
Without judgment (because judgment is also the ego mind, that tricky little bo**er!)

Then see if you can also listen for your higher mind’s perspective.

That’s where the peace lives.

Come practice more presence with me in the 11-Day Devotion: Resilience of the Heart, starting this Monday.

You can join the devotion through the link in my bio 🤗

Emotional types (heart) experience stress in the space of who they are and how they are seen (as opposed to the body types who experience stress in the gut with a need to respond, or the head types who experience stress in the mind as uncertainty and lack of stability or resources).

But each of the heart types chooses a different way to cope when they’re feeling threatened:

Type 2: serve and sacrifice for love
Type 3: produce and perform for value
Type 4: isolate and reflect inwardly searching for authentic identity

When you experience a stressful situation, do you find yourself engaging in any of these patterns? Let me know! I can see all 3 in my conditioned patterns, though I tend to perform for value as my go-to coping strategy!

P.S. And remember, as humans we all engage in behaviors of the nine types, and so the Enneagram is less about landing on a type and more about discovering behaviors that you might automatically be engaging in that aren’t supportive of your energy and growth. Stay tuned for the mind types!

A. Gut or instinctive intelligence.
You may be a type 8, 9, or 1!

These types wrestle most with autonomy and the right to exist and make choices for themselves. They navigate the world through a felt sense in the body, but each type develops a different strategy to meet the core need for agency.

B. Heart or emotional intelligence.
You may be a type 2, 3, or 4!

These types wrestle most with identity and personal value through the lens of the feeling heart. Each type develops a different strategy to meet the need to be seen, loved, and valued.

C. Head or mental intelligence.
You may be a 5, 6, or 7!

These types wrestle most with the need to feel safe and secure. They navigate this need through the mind, but each type employs a different strategy to manage uncertainty and find safety.

Your intelligence center is a great place to start when you’re trying to discover your Enneagram type!

And remember, the Enneagram is all about the why behind a behavior, not the behavior itself. That’s why we can’t really type other people. We only truly know our own motivations.

And none of the types are “better” or more evolved. They are simply brilliant expressions of the nine ways humans use their strengths and gifts to meet their needs in an uncertain world.

Once you see your patterns, you can turn up the gift and release the limitations.

Beautiful, right?

Stay tuned for the Enneagram strategies to further hone in on your unique type.

Your struggle may actually be pointing you toward your purpose.

Every Enneagram type carries a core struggle.

But that struggle also holds a hidden gift.

When we begin to understand the patterns driving us, we unlock the potential inside them.
