🍔🥤 Another Great Resident Adventure! 🥤🍔

Today our residents enjoyed a fun outing to Steak ‘n Shake! Everyone had a wonderful time enjoying delicious food, tasty milkshakes, and most importantly getting out and spending time together. Seeing all the smiles and laughter made the trip extra special!

On our way back, we also took a relaxing drive through Central Park, which our residents really enjoyed. Days like today are all about making memories, enjoying the little things, and spending quality time together outside of the building. ❤️

We are so thankful for opportunities like these for our residents!

Today we want to give a huge shoutout to our Admissions Director, Carrie Russell, for successfully filling our building to 57 beds — our maximum capacity! 💙

Because of Carrie’s hard work and dedication, River Run Healthcare of Coal Grove is currently full at this time. This is such a huge accomplishment and reflects the trust families place in our team and the care we provide each day.

Carrie works tirelessly for our building and our residents. From spending countless hours preparing admissions, coordinating with families, and making sure every resident feels welcomed, to balancing her many other responsibilities, she truly gives her all every single day.

Her compassion, commitment, and determination do not go unnoticed. Thank you, Carrie, for everything you do for our residents, families, and staff. We are so proud of you and thankful to have you as part of the River Run family! ❤️

🎉 Day 5 — The Final Day of National Skilled Nursing Care Week 2026! 🎉

We wrapped up an absolutely amazing NSNCW with a fun-filled day full of food, laughter, and memories! ❤️

We started the day off with a cookout lunch for our residents and staff! A huge thank you goes out to Adam, our Activities Director, Cassie, our Dietary Manager, Will “Shug” our Dietary Cook, and Miana, our Dietary Aide for making today possible. Their hard work and dedication helped create an absolutely delicious lunch for everyone to enjoy! 🍔🌭

Today’s menu included:
• Hamburgers
• Hotdogs
• Macaroni Salad
• Cowboy Beans

Cassie also made some delicious homemade hotdog sauce that was a huge hit with everyone! 🌭❤️

After lunch, the fun continued as our team quickly got the water balloons and dunk tank ready! 💦 A very special thank you to M&M Inflatables for their donation and helping make today extra special!

Our residents had an absolute blast dunking some of our managers and staff members! First up was Will “Shug” from Dietary, followed by Carrie, our Director of Social Services, and then Adam, our Activities Director! 😂

Once the residents finished having their fun, the staff joined in too — especially Carrie and Shug, who definitely kept everyone laughing! 🤣

Thank you to everyone who helped make this National Skilled Nursing Care Week so special and one to remember. We are so thankful for our residents, staff, families, and community who continue to make River Run Healthcare of Coal Grove feel like home.

🎉 Day 4 of National Skilled Nursing Care Week! 🎉

Yesterday was another wonderful day here at River Run Healthcare of Coal Grove!

That morning, our staff enjoyed delicious pizza sponsored by ViaQuest! 🍕 We are so thankful for their support and for helping us celebrate our amazing team during National Skilled Nursing Care Week.

That afternoon, residents enjoyed planting mini flowers and spending some relaxing time outdoors getting their hands dirty and making things beautiful! 🌸🌼

To top off the day, everyone cooled down with a visit from The Cool Bus Shaved Ice! 🍧 Residents and staff loved the sweet treats and fun flavors.

🎉 Day 3 of National Skilled Nursing Care Week at River Run Healthcare of Coal Grove 🎉

This morning, our residents met up with residents from our sister facility, River Run Healthcare of Portsmouth at the Greenup Dam for “Big Bucks Bingo!” 🎰💵 Hosted by the two Activities Directors, Adam and Tracy, residents enjoyed a fun afternoon of bingo, friendly competition, and socializing with new friends from another River Run community.

Later today, we continued our National Skilled Nursing Care Week celebrations by treating our nurses and staff to a delicious baked potato bar! 🥔🧀🥓 We are so thankful for our incredible team and all the compassion, hard work, and dedication they show every single day.

🎉 Day 2 of National Skilled Nursing Care Week at River Run! 🎉

Today we were treated to a wonderful lunch for our staff donated by Jason with Buckeye Hospice and Palliative Care! He brought delicious Mexican food for our nurses and staff to enjoy, and we are so thankful for the kindness and support shown to our team. Thank you, Jason and Buckeye Hospice and Palliative Care, for thinking of us during National Skilled Nursing Care Week & Nurses Week! 💙

We also took time today to pass out gifts to our nurses in celebration of Nurses Week! We are so thankful for the compassion, dedication, and care our nurses provide each and every day. 🩺❤️

This afternoon, our residents cooled off with a fun ice cream social! Residents enjoyed cookies and cream ice cream as well as triple peanut butter cup ice cream — and it was definitely a hit! 🍨😋

🎉 Kicking Off National Skilled Nursing Care Week & Nurses Week! 💙

Yesterday we officially kicked off National Skilled Nursing Care Week and Nurses Week here at River Run Healthcare of Coal Grove!

We started the morning by celebrating our amazing staff with a delicious breakfast featuring scrambled eggs, fried eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, and gravy! 🍳🥓

That afternoon, our residents enjoyed painting rocks for our rock and gnome garden. This has become a favorite tradition each year, and our residents always love showing off their creativity and adding their special touch to the garden! 🪨🎨🧙‍♂️

We are excited for a fun-filled week celebrating both our residents and staff!

🌸🌷 A Special Mother’s Day at River Run 🌷🌸

We had a wonderful Mother’s Day today at River Run Healthcare of Coal Grove! 💐

For lunch, our residents enjoyed a delicious meal featuring slow cooked glazed ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, cookies, and ice cream cups. Meals like these are one of the many ways we try to make holidays feel warm, comforting, and full of love for our residents.

This afternoon, our Activities Department continued the celebration by serving cookies and sweet tea while spending quality time celebrating all of the wonderful mothers in our building.

We would also like to give a special thank you to Carrie, our Director of Social Services, who came in and handed out beautiful handmade corsages to our residents for Mother’s Day. Such a thoughtful gesture helped make the day even more meaningful for the mothers in our building. 🌸

Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers from all of us at River Run Healthcare of Coal Grove! ❤️

We had a wonderful Friday evening celebrating Mother’s Day weekend with a special visit from the Silver Spurs Lawrence County 4-H Group! They spent time visiting with our residents and passing out chocolates, bringing so many smiles along the way.
