⭐️Special Project Update⭐️

Today, we are thrilled to give you an update on the spring bottle cap collection project at Handi-Crafters!

Earlier this year, program participants collected plastic caps to make into an accessible picnic table! Thanks to the dedication of our staff and participants, a grand total of 950 pounds of recycled plastic was collected!!! 🥳

Handi-Crafters is thrilled to partner with Amy and Jeff, founders of the sustainability company Jahaco, to see our table come to life! 🤩 Based in Coatesville, Jahaco turns landfill plastic into durable and sustainable products!

We are proud to partner with this incredible company to make a positive environmental impact in our community! 💚

Our program participants and staff came together today to enjoy a delicious Thanksgiving lunch from our friends at Pudge’s Steaks! 🧡

Thank you VISTA.Today for the feature highlighting the amazing impact of the 39th Annual Hankin Invitational!

Since 2014, the Hankin Invitational has raised an astounding three million dollars to support the amazing individuals in our program. From vocational training to support services, this critical funding directly impacts the lives of individuals with disabilities and empowers them to reach their greatest potential.

Thank you Hankin Group for your loyal and life-changing partnership with Handi-Crafters Opportunity Center! Here's to year 40!

The Hankin Group Invitational at Whitford Country Club raised $370,000 for Handi Crafters, continuing a longstanding tradition of community support and philanthropy in Chester County.

We are so proud to highlight Handi-Crafters program participant Tiffany for her work at Goodwill! 💙👕

Tiffany has been competitively employed at Goodwill for over a year now and has been crushing it! 🤩 Her favorite part about her job is working alongside her co-workers who have become friends! 🩷

Alyssa Watterson, HCOC Employment Specialist, is so proud Tiffany’s dedication, independence, and growth over the past year at Goodwill.

“When Tiffany puts her mind to it, she gets the job done,” said Alyssa.

Meet Trent! ⭐️

Today, we want to give a special shout-out to program participant Trent, who has been with Handi-Crafters since 2017!

Trent has worn many different hats throughout his time at Handi-Crafters—from the workshops, kitchen, and the warehouse!

For the past six years, Trent has been a confident, reliable, and dedicated member of the warehouse team. 📦🚛 Trent is a certified forklift driver and is always willing to jump in and lend a hand. His positivity and work ethic have had an incredible impact on HCOC.

World of Work 2025! 💙🩷🎓

Congratulations to our program participants Navneet, Miguel, PJ, Melissa, Amy, Aaliyah, Jonathan, Tyrell, and Cliff for completing the Work of Work Program at Handi-Crafters! 🥳

Over the past 7 weeks, this group has dedicated their time to exploring the world of competitive employment! Through the course this program, our participants learned about job search strategies, workplace expectations, building a strong work ethic, diversity, and so much more! 🤩

We are immensely proud of every individual in this group for their commitment to this program! We look forward to seeing everything they accomplish in their bright futures! 💫

Today, we want to give a special shout-out to HCOC’s amazing warehouse crew! 🚛

This rockstar team, under the direction of Kevin Anderson, completed their forklift re-certification last week and crushed it! 🤩

We are grateful for the hard work, commitment to safety, and dedication this team brings to Handi-Crafters every day!

We are proud to recognize Sandi Toth, HCOC Finance Department Assistant, as our October 2025 Employee of the Month! 🤩

Sandi joined Handi-Crafters in February 2017 and has been an invaluable part of the Finance Department ever since. Her knowledge, dependability, and commitment have made her a cornerstone of our operations. From payroll and billing to accounts receivable and payable, Sandi ensures that every detail is handled with accuracy and care.

Over the past several months, Sandi has been instrumental in supporting the organization through a significant leadership transition—offering stability, guidance, and a positive attitude every step of the way. She has also been a tremendous help to our fundraising efforts, keeping donor giving organized and acknowledged, and was an irreplaceable part of this year’s Hankin Invitational Golf Tournament.

Sandi’s dedication, professionalism, and kindness make her an essential member of our team. We are so grateful for her continued contributions and proud to recognize her as our Employee of the Month for October 2025! 🩷💙
