Handi-Crafters Opportunity Center HCOC is one of the largest vocational training and support service providers in Southeastern, PA.

We achieve our goals due to active partnerships with local employers as well as manufacturing contracts with companies all over the world. We support and work alongside our participants who have special needs. We serve individuals with various intellectual, developmental, or physical disabilities, persons with mental health diagnoses, and veterans. We also have an Adult Daily Living Center (ADLC) for adults with disabilities or who have retired from the HC Opportunity Center. The ADLC is a fully-supervised, licensed day program. Activities are planned every day, and each participant can enhance their well-being and overall quality of life as they participate. Perfect for respite care during the day.

On Friday, February 20, over 100 members of our Handi-Crafters community came together for a special night of fundraising at our 2026 Winter Bash Bingo!

It was an unforgettable evening filled with games, raffles, and raising money for our programs and individuals at Handi-Crafters. We are filled with immense gratitude for the unwavering support of our incredible community!

⭐️Meet Krista⭐️

Today, we are so proud to highlight Krista, a Handi-Crafters Alumni, for her work at the Hilton!

Krista has been competitively employed at the Hilton since 2018 and has been a beloved and essential member of the team! Her main job responsibilities include helping sort and organize linens and working collaboratively with her coworkers!

“I love this job,” expressed Krista.

Her manager, coworkers, and our Handi-Crafters Employment Specialist Alyssa Watterson are all so proud of everything Krista has accomplished.

“Krista knows how to get the job done, she gets along wonderfully with all of her coworkers, and has amazing attention to detail,” said Watterson.

On February 10, our organization had the pleasure of welcoming two staff members from State Senator Carolyn Comitta's office for an educational and empowering afternoon at Handi-Crafters!

Staff members Michael and Ashley spent time touring each of our workshops, spoke with our program participants, and learned more about our community and business partnerships that help empower over 200 individuals across Chester County!

Our organization is proud to share the work and mission of Handi-Crafters with our representatives. Through each visit, we are able to highlight the vital importance of providing essential and transformational opportunities for adults with disabilities in our region.

Thank you, Michael and Ashley, for spending this valuable time with us at Handi-Crafters!

Handi-Crafters in Business

Handi-Crafters runs one of the largest employment and disability focused support service programs in Southeast Pennsylvania. Each year we help over 450 individuals to access rewarding employment opportunities in the community and in our Work Center. We achieve our goals through partnerships with great employers and the acquisition of work contracts with businesses who choose socially responsible outsourcing to meet their production, assembly and packaging needs. We also offer a continuum of support programs which includes providing accessible housing assistance and retirement in our Older Adult Daily Living Center. In operation since 1961, Handi-Crafters is a trusted resource serving the needs of those who are differently-abled in Chester and surrounding Counties.
