On May 19, 2026, we will come together to honor the brave EMS professionals of New York State who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

These dedicated men and women answered every call with courage, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to others. Their service saved lives, strengthened communities, and reflected the very best of what it means to serve.

We invite you to join us for the 2026 EMS Memorial Dedication Ceremony, hosted by the NYS Department of Health, Division of State EMS, beginning at 11:00 AM. Together, we will remember their legacy, support their loved ones, and stand united in gratitude and respect.

Though they are gone, they will never be forgotten.

In memory of Johnny “Love” Riscavage 💚

Johnny was a teammate, a friend, and a 30-year veteran of our organization, and a legend in our profession—someone who dedicated his life to helping others and left a lasting impact on everyone he met.

Over the past few weeks, we have witnessed an incredible outpouring of support from our peers and our community—something that truly reflects the life Johnny lived and the impact he had on so many.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who visited, donated, purchased shirts, shared stories, and kept Johnny and his family in their thoughts and prayers. Your kindness and compassion have meant more than words can express.

The last few weeks of paramedic lab are always the toughest for the paramedic staff, because our students have grown so much that it takes higher-level scenarios and simulations to keep challenging them!
