Our Story
The Breather is the first drug-free, evidence-based Respiratory Muscle Training device, designed to serve patients with COPD, CHF, Dysphagia, Stroke, Hypertension, Parkinson’s, and Neuromuscular Diseases.
Since 1980, we’ve been creating Respiratory Muscle Training (RMT) devices. We serve medical practitioners and their patients in the pulmonary and speech pathology industries. Our first device, The Breather, is a RMT for both inspiratory and expiratory muscle training.
It was invented in 1979 by our Chief Clinical Officer, Peggy Nicholson, a former Respiratory Therapist. It was the first device of its kind. Since it was created, more than 60 patents have referenced The Breather’s simple yet effective design. Read the latest science and proof of efficacy.
We’re now continuing the tradition of being first to market with our newest invention, Breather II. It’s an intelligent device providing a combination of spirometry diagnostics, therapeutics, and remote patient monitoring. Its aim is to improve patient outcomes and lower healthcare costs.
