When providers come together, sharing insights, coordinating care, and supporting one another, we create stronger, more compassionate paths for our clients. Recovery is not meant to happen in isolation, and neither is treatment.

Grateful for the opportunity to connect and collaborate with Health in supporting individuals and families on their journey toward mental health. Together, we can offer more comprehensive, thoughtful, and effective care.

Because when we work as a team, our clients don’t just get support—they get a community. 💛

Medication can be a helpful part of treatment for eating disorders, especially when addressing anxiety, depression, OCD, or mood instability that often accompany this diagnosis.

At the same time, medication alone is not the treatment for an eating disorder. Recovery requires consistent, adequate nourishment, along with therapeutic support from a multidisciplinary treatment team to heal the relationship with food, body, and emotions.

Both can work together, but nourishment is not optional. It’s essential. Whether you’re just starting or continuing your path to healing, we’re here for you. 💙 Full lung to our blog post in bio 💙

Understanding when medication can be helpful for mental health isn’t always clear! and that’s okay. We understand the fear and hesitation, and are trying to make it easier for you! So here it is: Medication may be beneficial when symptoms like anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma-related distress, or eating disorder behaviors begin to interfere with daily functioning, relationships, sleep, or overall well-being. It can help reduce the intensity and frequency of symptoms so you can better engage in therapy, build new coping skills, and move toward recovery.

It’s not about “quick fixes” or replacing the deeper work. Instead, medication can be one supportive tool alongside therapy, lifestyle changes, and connection! This sum of various resources will help create the stability and space that you need for healing.

Remember: choosing medication is a personal and informed decision. With the right guidance and support, you can explore what feels aligned with your needs and goals.

You don’t have to figure it out alone 💛Whether you’re just starting or continuing your path to healing, we’re here for you. 💙 Visit our blog for more information on mental health! ✨Full link in bio ✨

Asking for help with your mental health is not a weakness—it’s an act of courage.

So many people struggle in silence, telling themselves “I should be able to handle this on my own” or “others have it worse”, or “I’m not sick enough.” But the truth is, you don’t have to wait until things feel unbearable to reach out. Support and healing are not something you earn when things get “bad enough”—it’s something you deserve simply because you’re human. You matter because you exist!

At Home For Balance, we often remind our clients: healing happens in connection. Whether it’s talking to a therapist, opening up to a trusted friend, or seeking guidance from a professional, asking for help is a powerful step toward relief, clarity, and growth.

You are not alone. And you don’t have to do this alone.

Reaching out might feel uncomfortable, but it can also be the beginning of something truly transformative. 🤍Whether you’re just starting or continuing your path to healing, we’re here for you. 💙

Do I need medication for my mental health? It’s one of the most common—and important—questions we hear.

Medication can be a helpful part of treatment for anxiety, depression, OCD, eating disorders, trauma, and other conditions —but it’s rarely the whole answer. The most effective care often includes a combination of therapy, psychoeducation, lifestyle changes, support, and, when appropriate, medication.

It’s also important to know: medication doesn’t have to be forever, and it doesn’t automatically lead to addiction—two common fears we often hear.

With the right guidance, including knowing what questions to ask your psychiatrist and how tools like genetic testing can help guide decisions, you can feel more confident and informed in your care.

We break it all down for you in our NEW blog post 💛 Plus we have a FREE PDF you can download with questions for your psychiatrist! Whether you’re just starting or continuing your path to healing, we’re here for you. 💙

Today we celebrate the incredible work of dietitians who help people build healthier, more compassionate relationships with food, especially our very own dietitian, Yaneth!!

Everyone who knows Yaneth knows that she is not only amazing at what she does but also a compassionate human being who meets her clients where they’re at! Dietitians do so much more than talk about nutrition. They support healing, guide recovery, challenge harmful diet culture messages, and help individuals reconnect with their bodies in nourishing and sustainable ways.

In eating disorder recovery especially, dietitians are essential members of the treatment team. Their expertise, patience, and dedication help individuals move from fear and restriction toward trust, nourishment, and balance.

Today we celebrate the knowledge, compassion, and commitment dietitians bring to the lives of so many people and families. Thank you for the work you do every day to support health, recovery, and well-being, and especially we want to thank Yaneth for being such a key member of our team!!

Comparison can quietly pull us away from ourselves. When we measure our lives, bodies, or progress against others, we often forget that everyone is walking a different path with a different story.

Instead of comparison, try choosing kindness.

Speak to yourself with the same compassion you would offer a friend. Notice your efforts. Honor your growth. Your journey deserves patience, understanding, and care.

Self-compassion is often the most powerful antidote to comparison. ✨ Full link in bio✨Whether you’re just starting or continuing your path to healing, we’re here for you. 💙

03/06/2026

Comparison is everywhere. We compare our bodies, careers, relationships, parenting, productivity, healing, and even how we rest. Social media makes it easy to fall into this pattern by showing carefully curated highlight reels that rarely reflect the full reality of someone’s life.

But comparison can quietly damage your relationship with yourself. When you measure your progress against someone else’s timeline, body, or lifestyle, you lose sight of your own growth, strengths, and values. You start believing that you are “behind,” “not enough,” or doing life wrong. This can be anxiety provoking and depressing!

The truth is: your journey is not meant to look like anyone else’s. Your body, nervous system, experiences, and path to healing are uniquely yours.

Instead of comparing, try grounding yourself in your own progress:
• Notice the small changes in how you think, cope, or show up for yourself.
• Celebrate moments of courage, flexibility, and self-compassion.
• Focus on the values and goals that truly matter to you.
• Limit content that triggers comparison or self-criticism.
• Remind yourself: growth is not a competition.

Every time you shift your attention back to your own path, you strengthen trust in yourself.

We don’t get tired of saying: Keep your eyes on your journey. That’s where your real life is happening. Whether you’re just starting or continuing your path to healing, we’re here for you. 💙

Compliments and comments that diet culture says sound positive—like “You look so skinny,” “Have you lost weight?” or “You look amazing!”—can be very harmful!

You never truly know what someone is going through.
That weight loss might be connected to illness, grief, stress, depression, or an eating disorder. A comment about what someone is eating or how their body looks can reinforce harmful thoughts about food, body image, and self-worth.

Body comments—whether intended as compliments or concerns—can unintentionally strengthen the idea that a person’s value is tied to their weight, shape, or appearance.

Instead, try shifting the focus to what truly matters:
✨ “It’s so nice to see you.”
✨ “I love spending time with you.”
✨ “You bring such great energy to the room.”
✨ “I appreciate your kindness and strength.”

When we move away from appearance-based comments, we help create a culture that supports body respect, mental health, and eating disorder recovery.

Your words matter. Choose ones that nourish people beyond their bodies. Whether you’re just starting or continuing your path to healing, we’re here for you. 💙

03/03/2026

You never truly know what someone is carrying.

A comment about weight loss or weight gain.
A compliment about looking “so thin or so healthy.”
A “joke” about needing to “work that off or put weight on.”

Even when appearance-related comments are meant to be positive, they can land in ways you don’t intend. For someone struggling with an eating disorder, body image concerns, chronic illness, or anxiety, those words can reinforce fear, shame, restriction, overexercise, or harmful behaviors around food and appearance.

We live in a culture that normalizes talking about bodies. But bodies are not public property. And someone’s size, shape, or weight is not an invitation for commentary.

Instead of commenting on appearance:
✨ Compliment someone’s energy
✨ Acknowledge their kindness or creativity
✨ Celebrate their resilience
✨ Ask how they’re feeling, not how they’re looking

You don’t know what someone is battling privately. Let’s create conversations that support healing, not unintentionally fuel harm. 💙 Whether you’re a parent or someone who’s just starting or continuing your path to healing, we’re here for you.
