Here’s what you need to know: not all injuries show up right away. After an auto accident, the spine can shift or misalign from the impact, even if you don’t feel immediate pain. Some injuries take weeks or even months to surface. Waiting can delay recovery and, in some cases, lead to long-term damage.
And timing matters, especially in Florida. Under Florida’s 14-Day Rule (Statute 627.736), you must seek medical care within 14 days of a traffic accident to qualify for Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits. Miss that window, and your insurance company can legally deny your claim.
