Good afternoon, and Happy Monday. Today I wanted to talk about Parasites. It is alarming the reports that I have been reading, and didn't even realize this was a thing. But, Yes, parasites are a real and common thing in humans and can range from microscopic organisms to worms that cause infections. They are transmitted through contaminated food and water, undercooked meat, insect bites, and poor hygiene. Parasitic infections can cause a variety of symptoms, such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, and fatigue.
One option is doing a parasite cleanse. This is any diet, supplement, or other detox product that aims to remove parasites from the body.
The tincture that we have formulated has the following ingredients, and why we chose them:
Parasite/Virus Elixir:
Ingredients: Wormwood, Neem, Thyme, Coriander, Soursop, Star Anise, Garlic, Oregano, Ginger, Black Walnut.
Wormwood: Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium) is an effective herbal remedy for treating intestinal parasites, particularly roundworms and pinworms, due to its active compounds like thujone and artemisinin. Antiparasitic Properties- Wormwood has been traditionally used for centuries to combat parasitic infections. Its effectiveness is attributed to several active compounds, including:
Thujone: This compound is believed to paralyze parasites, making them easier for the body to eliminate. It is particularly effective against certain types of worms.
Artemisinin: Known for its antimalarial properties, artemisinin can also produce free radicals that damage the cell membranes of parasites, effectively killing them.
Santonin: Historically used to expel intestinal worms, santonin helps loosen parasites from the intestinal walls, aiding in their removal from the body.
Thyme: Thyme is another good treatment for parasites. Thyme has some of the same active compounds as oregano, and so, thyme is also one of the most helpful herbs for getting rid of worms in humans. Thyme may help to increase nitric oxide, which can help to inhibit the parasites and aid in eliminating them. Thyme oil can also damage the internal structures of parasites, which makes it unique in its use as an antiparasitic. Thyme essential oil also helps reduce the number of parasite larvae, which may aid in preventing reinfection.
Coriander: Coriander has been noted for its potential effects on parasites.
It is used for parasite infections and has been reported to have nematocidal properties against certain nematodes. Coriander seeds extract has shown effectiveness against encysted larvae in studies.
Additionally, it is recognized for its use in treating various conditions, including anxiety and digestive issues, which may indirectly support parasite management.
Soursop: Soursop (graviola) is known for its potential antiparasitic properties, making it a natural option for combating intestinal parasites. Antiparasitic Properties
Effectiveness Against Intestinal Parasites: Soursop has been shown to possess anti-helminthic properties, meaning it can kill intestinal worms and their larvae. Studies indicate that extracts from soursop leaves can effectively target and eliminate various types of intestinal parasites, including roundworms and pinworms.
Bioactive Compounds: The antiparasitic effects of soursop are attributed to its rich content of bioactive compounds, particularly acetogenins. These compounds inhibit the metabolism and growth of parasites, preventing them from reproducing and causing health issues.
Traditional Uses: In many cultures, particularly in Latin America, soursop has been traditionally used to treat parasitic infections. The leaves and fruit are often brewed into teas or consumed directly to harness their health benefits.
Star Anise: Star anise has been traditionally used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to support digestive health and aid in the cleansing of the gut of parasites. Its antiparasitic compounds, such as anethole and shikimic acid, have been shown to inhibit the growth of common intestinal pathogens and parasites. In vitro studies have demonstrated that star anise extracts can improve gastrointestinal transit and reduce gas formation, aligning with its reputation for relieving bloating and promoting Qi movement. Additionally, star anise contains high levels of flavonoids and polyphenols, which exhibit potent free-radical scavenging and anti-inflammatory effects, further supporting its role in soothing digestive discomfort and protecting the gut lining.
Garlic: Garlic is effective against parasites due to its active components, particularly allicin and ajoene. Here are some key points on how garlic can help:
Antiparasitic Properties: Garlic has a history of killing parasites and controlling secondary fungal infections.
Effectiveness Against Nematodes: Studies show that garlic can help kill specific types of parasites, especially nematodes, with one study indicating a 91.24% effectiveness in infected mice.
Inclusion in Diet: Incorporating garlic into a parasite cleanse diet is recommended for its antiparasitic benefits.
Detoxification: Garlic also aids in detoxifying the body, which can be beneficial during a parasite cleanse.
Oregano: Oregano is known for its antiparasitic properties and can be effective against various intestinal parasites. Here are some key points:
Carvacrol, a compound in oregano oil, has been shown to disrupt parasite biofilms and enhance treatment results.
Clinical studies indicate that oregano oil can reduce parasites, with specific cases of infections like Blastocystis hominis resolving with its use.
Oregano oil may also help protect against leaky gut syndrome, benefiting overall gut health.
It is commonly used in natural remedies for gut health and is considered a staple for fighting parasites, fungi, and bacteria.
Neem: Neem is a traditional remedy known for its effectiveness against various parasites, often used in the form of tea, extracts, or topical applications.
How Neem Works Against Parasites
Neem has been historically used in Ayurvedic medicine to combat intestinal and other types of parasites. Its active compounds, such as nimbidin and gedunin, have demonstrated antiparasitic properties. These compounds inhibit the parasites' ability to feed, interrupting their life cycle and preventing new parasites from hatching.
Ginger: Ginger is recognized for its potential anti-parasitic properties, helping to eliminate certain parasites and improve digestive health. How Ginger Works Against Parasites-
Increases Stomach Acid: Ginger can enhance the production of stomach acid, which is crucial for killing parasites and preventing infections. This increased acidity creates an environment that is less hospitable for parasites.
Anti-Parasitic Activity: Studies have shown that ginger exhibits anti-parasitic effects against specific parasites, such as Fasciola gigantica, demonstrating effectiveness that surpasses some conventional medications.
Digestive Health: Ginger is known to alleviate digestive issues, which can be beneficial during a parasite cleanse. It helps reduce gas and nausea that may occur during the die-off of parasites.
Green Black Walnuts: Green, black walnut hulls are known for their effectiveness against parasites due to their high concentration of active compounds like juglone and tannins. These compounds act as powerful vermifuges, disrupting the metabolic processes of parasites and potentially leading to their expulsion from the body.
Usage: Black walnut hulls are often combined with other herbs such as wormwood and cloves for enhanced effectiveness against various stages of parasites.
So how do you go about doing a parasite cleanse?
How to do parasite cleansing:
Adult: Take 20 drops of the Parasite Tincture three times daily right before or with a meal for 21 days minimum. Then stop for 14 days and repeat the procedure one more time. Children: Take 10 drops of Parasite Tincture three times daily right before or with a meal for 21 days minimum. Then stop for 14 days and repeat the procedure one more time. Using Binders: It is important to use a binder during a parasite cleanse to capture and remove the harmful toxins and waste products released by dying parasites, preventing their reabsorption into the bloodstream and minimizing uncomfortable detox symptoms. For Adults: Take one capsule 2 hours after a dose of Parasite Tincture twice daily. For Children: Take ½ capsule mixed in applesauce or such 2 hours after a dose of Parasite Tincture twice daily.
What are binders?
The best binders for use during a parasite cleanse often include a combination of ingredients to capture a wide array of toxins:
Diatomaceous Earth (DE): Food-grade DE is mentioned in some sources as being potentially effective against parasitic worms due to its microscopic sharp edges which may physically damage parasite exoskeletons, though more research in humans is needed.
Activated Charcoal: This is an excellent general binder with a high adsorptive capacity, effective at trapping microbial toxins and other substances in the gut, which is useful during acute detox situations.
Bentonite Clay & Zeolite: These natural clays and volcanic minerals can bind to various harmful substances, including certain mycotoxins (mold toxins) and heavy metals, which may also be present in the body alongside a parasitic infection.
Chitosan: Derived from shellfish, chitosan helps bind microbes and may also support beneficial gut bacteria growth.
Humic and Fulvic Acids: These can bind to a variety of environmental pollutants and heavy metals and are generally well-tolerated for longer-term use.
Fiber (e.g., Psyllium husk, Modified Citrus Pectin): General dietary fiber is crucial as it helps move waste and toxins through the digestive system and supports gut health.
Chlorella: A nutrient-dense algae that can bind to heavy metals and supports immune function.
