After watching this video, I dare you to find less than 5 things wrong with this video and replace it with actual science, biomechanics, and physiology that will attack the root cause (neuromuscular inhibition) of foot pain instead of just covering up symptoms.
Go!
Mine are:
1 - 2:50 - So steroids are a bad temporary treatment with side effects, but you still use it because INSURANCE PAYS FOR IT. Got it.
Sounds like I know what entity is driving the bus for your medical decisions, and it isn’t science, physiology, or biomechanics.
2 - 3:15 - we don’t have to rely on people like you, and my body can heal naturally? So here is a device you made that is non specific to my body that will force me to move in an unnatural way? Got it.
Why not assess the entire kinetic matrix and assess that persons individual biomechanics, then use physiology to allow that person’s own support structures to function normally.
3 - 4:15 - “features” of the device:
🔷rigid rocker bottom sole - didn’t sketchers try that and got in a class action lawsuit?
🔷a soft surface wouldn’t do anything for balance, proprioception, or foot strengthening?
🔷 textured surface so you can mask your pain fibers. Fixing your problems just like NSAIDS eh?
🔷 stiff rocker button action so your pesky midfoot bones don’t have to move and your muscles don’t have to get loaded. Sounds like strengthening to me!
🔷 the flip flop let’s you use your foot muscles! Never mind the previous features that don’t allow movement, don’t let you use your foot muscles, but are soft in the “right” places. Sounds like someone who really understands root causes speaking here!
🔷 metatarsal bar offloads and stretches the plantar fascia. How can you do both? If I decrease load and tension, how does my body heal “in line”. Some serious mental gymnastics going on here with the contradictions.
4 - 7:20 - Best feature yet: I can use the shoe over and over again because it really hasn’t attack the root cause of the issue, but it covered up my symptoms temporarily and actually made my foot weaker so that my problems kept coming back over and over again. Got it.
How about we address the patient’s individual biomechanics and treat the root cause of their injury. Then let’s educate them on how to eliminate the symptoms for good in the future?
5 - 8:00 - most people think this shoe would cure all of your foot pain, but it’s not designed to do that?
Right because modern medicine is all about a shotgun approach where we throw everything at it to see what sticks, but we don’t realize that there is a single root cause of these issues, and don’t understand how to address that issue.
6 - 8:15 - Who the heck is forced to wear high heels to work “nowadays“?!? Did we just go back 70 years?
7 - 8:35 - The simpler it is, the better it is. I actually agree with that, but I would urge her to go back to the “simplicity” of the anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics that she already learned way back in school that would negate the need for this fancy gadget that is just another symptom-modifier.
If you’re looking for a way to address the root cause of your symptoms instead of just covering them up, give me a call and find out how you can do that today!
