TRUTH OR MYTH:
Hearing aids are like π eyeglasses.
MYTH! π Eyeglasses are a mechanism to immediately assist the eye to focus and do not require vision training to wear them. Hearing aids are responsible for helping the π§ brain perceive pitch, duration, loudness, timbre, sonic texture and spatial location of sounds. With hearing aids, the brain needs time to adjust to the π sound coming through the hearing instrument. For those troubled with hearing loss in the US, approximately 62 percent are younger than 65. In fact, 1 in 6 baby boomers (ages 55-73), 1 in 14 Generation Xers (35-54), 1.4 million π§ children (18 or younger), and 2-3 out of 1,000 πΆ infants have some form of hearing loss. ANSWER: Stonehenge was built to π amplify sound! The placement of the stones could amplify the human voice by more than four decibels but produced no echoes. π΅ Music and other sounds would have been enhanced such that someone standing within the outer circle of stones would have heard conversations from the center with perfect clarity, even as the sound was obscured to those outside of Stonehenge.

TRUTH OR MYTH:
π§ Headphones and earbuds can lead to permanent hearing loss.
TRUTH! Prolonged use of headphones and ear buds through π volume and/or duration can damage the inner ear. Experts recommend keeping your volume below the halfway mark or between 60-85 decibels (normal conversation = 60 decibels; lawn mower = 90 decibels) and to give your π ears regular breaks between noise exposure.
