V is visual acuity

Visual acuity is the clarity or sharpness of vision, measuring the eye’s ability to distinguish fine details and shapes, typically tested using a Snellen chart from 20 feet (6 meters). "Normal" vision is 20/20 (6/6), meaning one sees at 20 feet what a person with standard vision sees at that same distance. Symptoms of poor acuity include blurry, hazy, or distorted vision, often corrected with glasses or surgery.
