Dear Project SEARCH Supporters,
Hello my name is Tony and I was the Project SEARCH team lead this week.

This week we accomplished more job shadowing. I shadowed the transportation, EVS and central supply departments. I learned so much and I had a great time. We had our business mentor lunch on Tuesday. My mentor Gray had a good attitude as usual and was as friendly as ever. Everyone's skills in the hospital workplace are improving. My I.E.P meeting was on Tuesday at 2:15 and that went swimmingly. Also on Tuesday we went and toured the Simulation lab open house. At the open house we learned a little about hospital training. There was even a Virtual Reality simulation for nurses to practice their skills. This included finding a pulse and checking their respiration.

Dear Project SEARCH Supporters,
Hi, I'm Nico, the team lead for this week and I'm writing this weekly update. Earlier this week and at the end of last week we got our badges and had Kootenai Health Way training. We also got to email our business mentors and hear back from them. My business mentor is Jason, he works at Mountain West Bank!

We are currently learning about each internship departments and started job shadowing today. Today I job shadowed in 3 East. It was fun. I restocked the patient's closets.

We are learning our way around the hospital too. We also did a team builder and built towers with our teammates out of random things. The goal was to build the highest tower. We also got prepared for our IEP meetings next week.

The week was pretty busy, especially towards the end. I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Hello Project SEARCH Supporters,
We have had a fun 1st week! We have been learning as new hires at Kootenai Health. We have 9 interns and 1 new staff member (Melissa) this year. We have been meeting new people. We have our hospital badges! We are just starting to learn our way around the hospital. This week we cleaned up trash on the trail around the hospital. We did our drug screening and TB test, success! We walked the trail on Tuesday and played some games with hospital staff. Today we will be using City Link to go to the mall for an outing and lunch. We hope you all have a very good weekend!

Dear Project SEARCH supporters,
My name is Wyatt, I am team lead for this week and before I got hired at KH my 3rd Internship was in Patient Equipment Transport Services (PETS) where I transported clean equipment from PETS to different floors and units for the patients to use. I also brought dirty equipment from the soil rooms from each floor back to PETS to clean them so that they are ready for future use. Right now I am working In Environmental Services here at Kootenai Health and It has been going well. I had orientation on May 12th and started my work schedule on May 14th. I also worked on Memorial Day. Thank you Project SEARCH supporters for supporting us this year.
Remember that we have our Project SEARCH Graduation on Tuesday, June 3rd at 4PM and hope to see ya there!

Dear Project SEARCH Supporters,
My name is Maddy Reed. I am in 3 East for my internship. Up in 3 East I stock the closets and clean the areas. I got a job at Ross Dress for Less!!! At Ross I get to work with Piper, a Project SEARCH 2024 graduate! I put clothes back and help customers get into the fitting rooms and restroom. I always say "hi" to the customers! I am so excited to see my family, friends, my mentor and hospital staff at my graduation on June 3rd!

Hello Project SEARCH Supporters,
I'm Tori and I am team lead this week. I am in EVS- Housekeeping/Laundry. In Housekeeping I am responsible for cleaning high-touch areas and mopping. In Laundry, I fold pillow cases, towels and baby blankets. I have also prepared laundry carts for the hospital units. I was also able to deliver laundry yesterday. I am still looking for a job after Project SEARCH. I am interested in working janitorial jobs with a good company like Kootenai Health or the Lakeland School District. I am also still interested in working with animals. There is no Project SEARCH on Friday due to it being a teacher work day. I am looking forward to going to the Night of the Stars at Silverwood tonight! Wishing everyone a great weekend.
