Dear Project SEARCH Supporters,
My name Is Joshua and I am team lead this week. I wrapped up my 2nd internship in EVS housekeeping and laundry last week. We had a busy week this week. We had Mock Interviews Monday, toured the USPS in Hayden on Tuesday, had our Presentations on Wednesday and completed and graduated from Good Samaritan CPR on Thursday. I also had the opportunity to do cross training at Patient Equipment Transportation with a fellow intern. Today we are going to have a tour at the Disability Action Center and the Department of Labor. Next week we have Spring Break. Have a great weekend!
Sincerely,
Joshua

Dear Project SEARCH Supporters,
This is Nate writing this week's update, I am the team lead. During my second internship, I'm working in the IT (Information Tech) department on a project of imaging computers and the HIM (Health Information Management) Department, I have learned so much. This week AJ job shadowed me up in IT for a split internship. I taught him how to image a computer, take cardboard to the basement, and get computers. Then I completed a computer while I walked him through on his own how to do a laptop. On Wednesday we also went to Career Quest sponsored by Vocational Rehab, which was an event to learn about job skills within our community. It was at the North Idaho College Workforce Training Center. There were sessions within rooms you were scheduled to attend. There were also tables of local businesses within the halls. My favorite session was blacksmithing and my favorite table was CDA Press, because I'm very creative, I love to build, write and draw. I'm excited about my presentation on March 25th at 4pm and to begin my third internship. Have a wonderful weekend!

Dear Project SEARCH Supporters,
This is Nico writing this week's update! One week left of 2nd internship which my current internship is PETS or Patient Equipment Transportation Services. They help move patients around the hospital. The tasks that I do are taking inventory, restocking the equipment in the rooms around the hospital and bringing dirty equipment back to PETS to be cleaned. I've enjoyed being in this department. This week we celebrated a PS graduate's half birthday and we also put out blood drive signs earlier in the week as well! We also did a little bit of a budget simulator as well. Budget simulation is where we use our fake pay that we earn while being at Project SEARCH to pay fake bills which helps us learn how to save money.
Sincerely,
Nico

Well, isn’t this cool!

Marissa is the reason DSCNW exists and our Adult with Ds Advocate, and her mom, Susan, is the founder of DSCNW and our current Board President. Their journey helped spark the creation of a community that supports and celebrates individuals with Down syndrome and their families.

Dear Project SEARCH Supporters,
Hello my name is Tony and I'm the Project SEARCH team lead this week. This week we had some students from CHS do a tour as well as one from LCHS. Our week finished with a tour of some staff from the Department of Labor. We had a great week in our internships and some of us learned some new things. In my internship, I have been keeping the cafeteria clean by wiping down the tables and chairs, keeping the condiments and utensils stocked and cleaning the microwaves. I also help confused guests and patients find where things are and offer to take trays back to the tray return. I really like helping others!
WE hope you have a great weekend!
